Good books

What are some books that have interesting content according to you?

I really like 'A wanderer's death' and 'Among the draugr', they give some insight in the nordic ruins we consider so boring. I just read 'forge, hammer and anvil' for the first time, and it cracked me up. Could also be practical for people who want to know what they need before they get a perk to smith new stuff.

The Great War. It's a great recap of a war we never got to see, and just shows that the Thalmor "almost" won.

Not sure if they're in Skyrim but The Real Barenziah and Palla are great in-game stories

Both Palla Volumes and The Real Barenziah Volumes 1 through 5 exist in Skyrim.

I like the eight Volume Wolf Queen Series.

I also enjoy additional Books supplied with the Dragonborn DLC, like the Poison Series.

My favourite is The Doors of Oblivion - the final line sends shivers down my spine.

Cabin in the Woods and The Woodcutter's Wife, I think that's what they're called. My favorites, right after Immortal Blood.

A few of my favorites, I limited myself to the first 5 that occurred to me but there are many more that bring a smile to my face that I will still read in full if I find them in-game. For some reason I tend to favor the "story" books in these games that have creepy or bad endings for some of the characters:

I'd be amazed, quite simply amazed if we could ever have one of these favorite book threads without this one being mentioned at least once.

Lots of good material here O:

Even some books I actually dismissed cause their first page wasn't too interesting.

Considering I use Heljarchen Hall as some kind of museum, I could add some books to their respective themes.

Most books in Skyrim are amazing, and so are those mentioned here.

I'll add one that wasn't mentioned yet: The Mirror (the Block skill book, also the target of a mini-quest). A must-read.

I wish that the next game would have it either as a complete series or a comic book ingame(The latter like the webcomic that sadly i forgot the link)

I made the mistake of reading Cabin in the Woods playing late at night with the lights turned off, then ran into a vampire encounter, my hands shot away from my keyboard and mouse... :D

My personal favorites are the A Dance in Fire series(though not unique to Skyrim) and Kolb and the Dragon, having been a big fan of CYOA books...

By the way, a little known fact about books is that Hearthfire DLC introduced a special list of books that could be used as gifts for your adopted children.

Very few books are on that list, and Kolb and the Dragon is one of those.

Birgitte collects occult books, and has the whole Wolf Queen set, which I really like. Also Spirit of the Deadra and Trap... I was not expecting to find a horror story that legitimately scared me, pretty cool.

Orandir gets the political/historical books like The Great War and The Bear of Markarth. I'm personally less interested in his collection, but I actively try to fill it.
