Good vs Evil path and quests

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 7:59 am

Hi

I am currently playing a melee class, who is supposed to be good. My current plan is to complete as many quests as I can find, before finishing the main quest.
The problem is that sometimes I accidently accept quests of "dirty deeds" and I can't abandon them, or sometimes I don't remember which quests are of "good" or "evil" allignment / intentions, because the description of the quests is not thorough enough.

I am not sure what to do about this issue. I am planning to stick to the good side on my first playthrough and then be evil on my second, and perhaps neutral on my third.

Anyone else is having this confusion and how do you tackle it?

EDIT: For instance I just received this quest http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Innocence_Lost I don't want to read the walkthrough of it, because I want to experience it myself, but something tells me that this quest is for those with bad intentions.

This is sort of a 'grey area' I think - you could justify completing it with 'good' intentions/for the 'greater good'. But it does lead to ...complications, which make it harder to stick to your principles. I have found myself starting quests that I feel it wouldn't be in keeping with my character to continue with, and generally just try to remember which ones they are, and ignore them in the quest journal.

that is actually the only murder in the game that the DB does with good intentions, but if you dont want to continue the DB quest line you can kill them off

there are no good alternative to good quests and no bad alternative to good quests (usually) but the line betwen good and evil is pretty well defined (if only we had the ability to not accept the quests other than walk away from the NPC mid sentance)

You could get a piece of paper and every time you accept a side-quest just write down the name and whether it is good or evil. If you keep it with the game case it wont get lost :)

I'm really happy they didn't hop on the extremely lame "good/evil-slider" bandvagon... I's refreshing to have a game with choises that isn't just "press 1 to get good points" and "press 2 to get evil points"

I hate to brand things good or evil but there is the issue that you dont have much choice in what quests to accept. Not to even mention choices within those quests.

I guess the only choice is, if you really want to be a black and white good guy, to ignore it.

I can't identify with my Skyrim character the same way I could in games like Mass Effect and especially Dragon Age 1. That is, because there are no real "choises" - it's like a playground with thousands of random quests, where sometimes I wonder if it was even worth completing so many of them - Misc quests that is. I know it's not the best thing to do, comparing Bethesda's game with BioWare's in here, but still - I needed something for comparison.

There are so many random things I could do - so many guilds to join, so many random quests to complete and areas to explore that my neurotic little head starts to spin.

I wish they made a game more compact, but with more choises at every aspect I meet in the game.

Ahh... Innocence Lost...

It can be looked at differently, but your doing those kids a big favor.

And you get the choice after the quest to wipe out a nasty organization.

And just ignore "bad" quests I guess.
