GOOD VS EVIL: the choice

I bring conflict to reveal your true nature. I raze your crops, blight your lands, and slaughter all who stand, for you have become lazy and content. Why do I do this? It is the will of Chaos. We are not good or evil. We are.

If a game can get me to immerse myself deep enough into it, I actually have trouble being evil. Curse my over active concious! My first person will be good, for sure...if I can resist stealing some stuff here and there. >.> But my second one will be more evil, I just have to put more effort into that guy.

Though, if the game isn't that immersive, I could care less.

That scares me that you have to put real effort into being evil when there is no real world consequence. I have problems doing the opposite, strictly because it is easier to steal the awesome weapon instead of doing some stupid errand for someone. When it comes to games I want it to be a game. Damn all this immersion nonsense.

I know exactly where he's coming from.

I have the same problem.

I have no problem stealing stuff. Its more as I'd rather get the ex and the rare item, rather than just the item. And killing people at random could close off a quest that could lead to something cool. I guess you could say...I'm good for selfish reasons? Not sure what kind of name you'd give that.

I don't ever want to play an "evil" character. Evil for evil's sake gets boring fast. I'd much rather play a character that believes he's doing good, but which the majority of other people don'r agree.

I hate karma systems. I can accept it in Fallout and Mass Effect but for the love of God, not TES! I dont want some being giving me points based on the righteousness of my actions. Half the time being evil has little reward and it seems just cliche. Id rather make my own decisions with little consequence besides factions despising me.

I mean [censored] thats why I play games. So I can do reckless [censored] and not have someone tell me "that was mean"

Hopefully it won't just be good or evil, I want shades of grey, white, and black.

I walk my own path. if there are those that wish to place a title of "good" or "evil" on my actions let them. We all answer to the same gods, and those gods know I have my reasons for what I do.

i'm sorry but logically if your a warrior that can't cast a snowball spell how in the hell should you be able to become the archmage of the mages guild. Also i believe you should be able become good or evil like in fallout because if i'm a bad assassin with a bow i want templar knights to hunt my ass down so i shoot their butts off their horses. I mean I want some serous faction war, and good vs evil. The evil ending is you side with the dragon god i mean after all he is a GOD.

I play as myself at first and I am always neutral, I help people out but if doing something bad against an innocent person is necessary for my survival then I will, I did not save the council. Anyways if someone leaves a pencil on a table by George I'm going to grab it.

I voted other. I'd prefer evil, but it isn't really an option in most TES game, since the only evil questline forces you to be an emo assassin type. I'd prefer an evil alternative to the main quest, honestly.

Evil is pointless when you have to do good deeds to advance the plot.

I have trouble playing evil characters in videogames. I just get more satisfaction from being a nice guy, you know? Helping beggars, widows, all of that stuff. Not to say that my characters will never do anything bad (I never save the Council, and I occaisonally do Renegade actions in Mass Effect because they're funny), but if I can help someone, I will. Plus, ruining or ending someone's life just seems screwed up to me, even if it is just a game.

Depends on my character.

I always have at least two show up in any sort of long-standing commitment, whatever it is. One of them is me, the other one is me; very egotistical, I know. But keeping it short, the first very much operates as close to me at this time as it can. I mostly ignore things not dealing with me unless there's some sort of profit to be had, whether that's money, fun, or continued investment in a relationship. The closest alignment that can be given to this is either "Chaotic Neutral" or "Neutral Evil"... all dependent upon circumstances that have evolved. The reason this doesn't qualify as Chaotic Evil is because I would need to be motivated to see others suffer for no other reason than to be evil (I typically only hurt those who have a stake against me, fools, and when I'm paid to... usually...), and implies the destruction of law, which is usually a mere inconvenience at worst and a toy for entertainment at best, and thus worth keeping around for the sake of stability of others for continued exploitation.

Yeah, I know, it makes me sound like a horrible person.

The second can't be represented by anything we know. A god doesn't have to think or do anything to warp reality. It just does by being there. Chief motivating factor is entertainment, I think. No discernable alignment, instead follows a http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BlueAndOrangeMorality.

Everyone else is up for grabs, depending on what I find interesting at the time.

My main Altmer is in it for the money glory and fame he will kill to get what he wants but is a nobleman in the pubnlic eye. He is an aristcrat treasure hunter in the publics eye those that have something he wants and the only way to get it is murder they never live to tell who their killer was. He also has a family who suspects their father is not 100% legit but he never lets them suspect otherwise. So its all the same coin for me...
