Good. Evil or your own Destiny Questline.

A previous post placed what sort of quests do you want,

I had an idea, but wanted to flesh out the quest i would like to see. And to share it with members.

Destiny quest line.

Could be apart if not already, or even separate from the main quest line.

You find an NPC, that asks you about the great divines, and your plunge into a quest that takes you from your humble beginnings to great heights.

you seek out as you explore tamriel, each of the representatives of the great divines, and on your travels you also bump into the representatives of deadric princes.

After hearing what each of them have to say, you return to the either the destiny quest giver and choose one of the Deadra, or Aedra as your patron. but there is another choice, to not seek help and pledge yourself to any of them.

After choosing one, entirely your choice, your epic quest begins.

They will have you running missions, and quests to explore certain zones and dungeons, and obtaining very specific quest related drops.

the long and short of it is, either you server a deadric lord, or one of the great divines and are set trials and tests along your way. do these right and your reward is..... well why spoil the fun.

But i did say there was a third choice you could make.

You turn down them all and choose to live out your destiny under your own steam. Which leads you to just as long and dangerous mission, where you are finally rewarded as well.

You can only choose one so choose wisely. good evil none of the above?

Evil is evil, lesser, greater, middling, makes no difference. The degree is arbitrary, the definition is blurred, if i'm to choose between one evil and another, I'd rather not choose at all.

Good and evil are rather cringe worthy ideas; the idea of an absolute morale good or an absolute moral evil.. I don't know, it's one of the few things I don't like about Lord of the Rings; it seems like a childish concept.

I've always been a fan of characters that are multiple shades of grey, like most of the Game of Thrones characters. That being said; I guess I'll deny the Aedra and Daedra in pursuit of my own path. If I had to pick on though.. Molag Bal, because I'm a svcker for Vampires. Yes that pun was intended.

I used the good and evil to simplify it a bit. See it as aedra, the divines, your ancestors, which i think the rough translation is.

and the deadra, the fallen not too fluffy ones cast out, and became lords of the oblivion realms.

and yes your own path, bound to none. you will can do with out any supernatural beings getting involved in your live, thanks.

The ultimate idea is all about choice. if you choose one of the deadra, like in the skyrim for example, you become there champion, and if you choose one of the divines you become theres, but you can only choose one of them.

I like the idea of being like a Talos figure, choosing your own destiny and becoming a champion of the people and not some poxy figure, looking down on waving there finger at you.

I hated how Mass Effect had the obviously good or obviously evil choices (press the good or bad button!). I agree that shades of grey are much more interesting. I won't spoil any surprises but there are quite a few morally ambiguous choices in ESO - some of them you may think you are making a clear choice only to be shown the unintended consequences of your actions later.
