The tv-series "Jericho" should be very high on that list. Nothing else comes close, as far as I'm concerned. Midwestern American town, plus nuclear holocaust, equals brilliance. It's all about post-apocalyptic survivalism. You should also include the tv-series "Firefly", which is about rugged individualism in space. Sci-fi plus cowboys. Very good, I completely forgot. Plus it had sort of a survivors vs. the Enclave plot to it, too. Kind of p@ssed it never got finished.
