A good idea for a small DLC

Post » Wed Aug 18, 2010 12:03 pm

I forget where I heard it (podcast maybe) but in Skyrim, arrows will be limited, right? So I was thinking if there really isn't that many arrows in the game to begin with and if I hear alot of people saying they don't like being an archer or just using a bow in general because arrows are limited...Bethesda should definitely make a DLC called "Arrow Shipment" Am I right? And yes I know you PC users don't have to worry about this..lucky sons of guns.

the idea svcks.

Why should they give us less arrows, and then charge us for more of them

POV's right. i doubt they'll be rare at all really.resources were never a problem in previous Beth games. not even in games that are supposed to be post-nuclear :D

This thread made me lol

If they made arrows that rare there would be no point to being an archer.

This thread is silly.

Horrible idea. Huge waste of time. No one would buy such a silly thing.

You just make sure you pick up the arrows that are stuck in your enemies after they are killed.

Alright well you know what, you guys win. alright? lol All I'm saying is that they'll be "limited" and I thought it'd be a good idea for a dlc to have as much arrows as we want.

Depends on what they mean by rare. Arrows would be much easier to craft than a piece of steel armor. They are also light and easy to carry, so there is really no excuse for them being rare, other than the fact they are more powerful. It also depends on if they fixed the fact that you could get unlimited arrows by finding someone doing archery training and picking them up.

Just think "Horse Armor v2.0" and it'll make perfect sense. ;)

It was a serious lack of mini nukes, I had a moded missile launcher who shoot them like missiles, much more accurate and longer range. :nuke:
But was always out of them at high levels where they was useful.

More OT. I doubt arrows will be rare, goblins will not carry over hundred anymore and you probably has to do with lower quality, no 50 elven arrows in shops. but it will be plenty to go around if you pick them up after use and use lower quality most of the time

And yes arrows would be the perfect item to craft as you use them up. One issue with smithing is that then you have made a sword you don't need a new until you can make a better one, but you would need new arrows all the time.
And yes stealing arrows might make sense now.

Well some of Oblivion's DLCs dealt with a lot of annoyances for the base game. Hate being a vampire, but find the ingredient hunt for making the cure too annoying? Instant cure at the Vile Lair! Want to make spells, but can't be bothered to play through the Mages Guild quests? Hello Wizard's Tower! :P

Lacking arrows? Buy the arrow shop DLC!

i think limited may mean not being able to carry over 9000 arrows at once

I want to be a hunter/woodsman character and I like the idea of arrow scarcity. If they truly are few and far between then I think it would add to the tension of not wanting to miss a shot and therefore add to the satisfaction of killing an enemy, maiming an animal so you can get closer etc.

Sounds like a new version of horse armour. But even worse, since horse armour didn't exist in the game at first.

No offense to you as a person, but this idea is probably one of the worst ideas you can have for a DLC.

Arrows are limited for a reason. To make being an archer more challenging (in conjuction with it takes longer to fire arrows and such).
The concept of these new arrow-features is more like this in my opinion: plan your shots carefully and don't spam arrows on the enemy as if you had an arrow-machine-gun.

No to the DLC idea.
Sorry I can't find a way of saying no that's nicer, other than trying not to make it sound less harsh.

The idea would make Bethesda go from "horse armour" that users occasionally use to spank the Devs with as a joke mostly in good faith.
To Bioware Festday packs.. buy both for less than the price of two separate.. rage inducing, money grubbing gaah.

The DLC's in the big O were fine mostly, they added a few role options not available to console users.
Such as Alters and lairs specific for other character types.

However as character types are the new "classes" a DLC that is needed for even one would show a lack of implementation of this concept.

Honestly DLC's are likely, however short with little content ones are going to bad for Beth in the long run.
Already I've decided not to buy any that add nothing to role or story in meaningful ways anymore.
How many horse armours do you think will have to be made before more do the same.
