A good idea?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 5:42 am

While looking at a few BRINK videos to keep myself from dying of lack of BRINK....I sawhttp://brinkthegame.com/media/videos/?id=3

Is this a good idea? I think so. What about you?

EDIT: It's a dev shooting a teammate and losing xp...It's at 1:07 and goes by QUICK...Top left corner

It's not working for me either. It links to facebook though, so it's probably a privacy issue.

Objective Perspective; Container City Part 2.

He hucks the grenade that detonates on a guy's head, runs right, strafes across the road while firing, then puts a few rounds into his ally.

i think this is could be potentially useful but also annoying if you have some idiot on your team who almost tries to make you lose xp.

I can see why they are doing this. In a lot of the interviews they are trying to make it easier for people who dont play multiplayer a lot to get into it. One of the problems they talk about is friendly fire, this will completly stop friendly fire because some people won't care, but i think a lot of people will want to keep the xp they earned.

I think that it is a good idea, because brink is about encouraging teamwork, and shooting your own team isnt helping the team, so they discourage it.

I think the Compendium said a little something about it being on by default for PC and off by default for 360 and PS3. Or vice-versa, I only read it once.

My answer remains valid, regardless.

BLASPHEMY!

And I see it too, looks like -16 xp, -16 xp, -11 xp. I'd very much like this, because there are people who honestly do not care if they kill teammates. If they get kicked, they'll just find a new server. Losing hard-earned xp, however, is a major deterrant.

No it won't. The annoying people that teamkill aren't going to be worried about losing a little XP. It will keep the guys that already care from risking certain moves.

It will also punish people for teammates that strafe and spray.

If there's going to be friendly fire it better not make you lose any points. I'm so, soo sick of these complete morons jumping right in front of my gun barrel while I'm shooting an enemy which ends up with me teamkilling him, losing points, and then getting mown down because all my bullets went into the team mates back while the enemies went right over him as he fell and into my head. That's my experience in BF:BC2 anyways

What they should do is make it so killing team mates doesn't make you lose points, but if you kill 3 you get auto-kicked from the game. That way those OTHER idiots who join games just to shoot every1 on their team instead of the opposing side won't b able to do so in Brink. That way we can have our FF realism and keep teamkill spammers out.

If you don't get punished for FF then that's hardly "FF realism. Auto kick doesn't recognize the difference in intentional and unintentional kills. The gaming gods are giving you a choice, it's freewill and I would still prefer it over the alternative.
