Good Names for Nords :D

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 1:13 am

I registered so I could link this website, has lots of info on old norse and name lists for males and females including name meanings so you can easily find a name to suit your nord. Mine is Gormr which means dragon in old norse since I'm Dovahkiin :D. For instance a nord mage name could be Finnolfr which means "magic". Hope you like it!

I named my Nord Eddard Crow's Eye, I've been reading Song of Ice and Fire (often known by the title of its first book and HBO series, (A) Game of Thrones.

I chose Eddard as a homage to Ned Stark, my favorite character. I added the Crow's Eye because the Ironborn resemble vikings quite a bit, and I thought it sounded badass.

There's actually a little girl in the game named Braith already, if I am not mistaken. She is a Nord child too, IIRC

I thought your point was you named your person a Welsh name and not a Nordic one, and I was saying that it fit perfectly and that there was someone named that in the game.

I guess you were just referring to that character already. Sorry :(

Anything involving a J being used like a Y. ;)

Remember to add a fierce-sounding sobriquet as well.

Nordic names (TES Nords) generally have a Norse or Scandinavian first name followed by a two word sur name, which is their clan name.

Qjork Thunder-Fist
Olaf Yellow-Beard
Neddic Silver-Blood

Etc.
