Good points to "Pause" MQ?

Hey everyone,

Just got Morrowind, and I'm literally right at the start of the MQ-- just delivered the package, and been told to report back when I'm ready; what I was wondering is, during the MQ (and hopefully without too many big spoilers) are there any other places where it's reasonably easy to role-play long-breaks in the story?

I'm currently planning for my character to spend a few weeks in B., and then 'get a letter' to report back, so that her story feels a bit more natural; and I'd like to maybe do the same at a few other places, if possible.

Thanks for any info :)

There will be two points quite early in the MQ when Caius Cosades himself will tell you to go out and basically explore, to come back with more experience. This would probably be the most logical points to take a break, as not much has really happened until then and it would make sense, character-wise, to get to know the land and improve one's abilities before continuing the quest.
