Hot plates, telephones, I believe lamps and street lights all have copper...Arturo in Diamond city sells shipments of copper

water purifiers need 2 power and be placed in water I believe...if the little lightning bolt is red, then it doesn't have enough power

Take one point in scrapper, scrap all the cheap pipe rifles you pickup and will effectively never need copper again unless you build a lot of mega settlements. Which i do, amd even then i pretty much mostly keep up with just scrapping.

Bunsen burners & beaker stands yield copper as well. If you go to Inventory -> junk then switch to component view, you can 'flag' copper as searchable. Then as you venture around the world any objects containing copper will automatically be highlighted with a green overlay real-time. Any containers that have an item that has copper will also highlight.

edit: Or whatever HUD color you have selected.

I've only got rank 1 and I'd never go without it again. Can't wait to get rank 2.

How do you get the overlay? I tag an item, and all I get is a magnifying glass symbol next to the item's name. And that doesn't show up on containers.

The TAG FOR SEARCH feature makes scavenging much easier.

It basically puts a magnifying glass icon next to ANY item that produces the material(s) you tag. Just learned this today.

I do have the magnifying glass, but no glow. Is it related to the Scrapper perk? Because I only have the first rank in that. I'm not a high enough level for the second rank.
