Good things about skyrim.

Post » Sat Aug 20, 2011 8:40 pm

I can't wait to really get out and see what you can do in the game. Todd Howard mentioned in the QuakeCon demo about how "As a player, anything you see the NPC's doing, you can do". In context he was talking about the odd jobs that people do around the towns like working at the saw mill, tavern, ect. He also mentioned several times that while the map was the same size as Oblivion, there's just loads more content and things to do in general compared to any other game Bethesda has made.

So with those comments I'm really looking forward to playing Skyrim and seeing what it is you can do! I just hope it's as packed full of content as he says it is.

I am exited for:
Radiant Story
Dragons
Perks and less grinding tied to leveling
The new graphics
Thu'um(Dragonshouts)
The dual-wielding system(all spells, weapons etc goes in one of the hands)
New factions
Random encounters
More varied wildlife

Just of the top of my head

Bosmer aren't getting bullied anymore, and dragon boss fights every hour or so. Plus, non-lethal bar fights, bards, doggies, more Dark Brotherhood, awesome lore, Kirkbride, dual wielding, seemingly improved magicka system, GREATLY improved levelling system, Dwemer ruins returning for morrowind kiddies, classic dungeons returning for oblivion kiddies, and an overhauled crafting system.

The only thing im pissed at is the greaves and chestplate fusing and the regenerating health out of combat. Also, Elder Scrolls VI: Valenwood, I'm calling it now.

So.. i've been noticing a lot of negative comments about what skyrim is lacking... I understand that poeple have a right to there opinions.
BUT! I wanted to make a positive thread, something that will REALLY get us hyped about skyrim! :celebration: so in honor of how awesome-tastic this game will be im starting this thread to say only positive things about how skyrim is gonna rock.
please post at least one thing your looking forward too on skyrim. im thinking a lot of poeple who should be interested in this game come to this forum and see all these negative threads... so i think we should give em something cool to look at!
Whos with me?! Ill go first

Im really hyped about the Radiant Story idea, it just brings you more into the world and gets you out adventuring, so that you leave no stone unturned. xD

hello,
good idea for a thread! you're spot on, too much negativity but like you said every1 has a right to an opinion.
myself, well to be honest with you all i'm just very happy that i will be playing a NEW elder scrolls in just a little over two months time
thanks to Todd and the team for giving me that TRUE MOMENT OF HAPPINESS as i truely love they're elder scrolls games{oblivion is the only one i've played, no mods cant do them without a pc}.

i began to notice myself complaining a few weeks back, i toke a moment and realized I, as a gamer, will never get that "perfect" game. although in
my opinion oblivion is the only game out there that comes close. they're an amazing group of people down there at Bethesda {if only i were american and not irish, we're boring!} bringing Rpg style gaming to new 'cool heights'. without they're imagination, patience and 'love' for they're work you would not be reading this, and my character ely would never have been born.
they do the best they can and have my humble respect love oblivion and the memories i have of it...and will lovingly love skyrim  ely

the core game play seems amazing

so any other minor inconvenience can be easily modded in

that's why I think skyrim will be the best game for 2 years to come :D

Everything about Skyrim is good in my opinion. People have a right to complain and criticize the game. It's not perfect, obviously. But it's always like this. Skyrim will win multiple GOTY awards and sell millions of copies. People on this forum will put 200+hours into it. Then TES VI is announced and the cycle starts over.

You hit the nail on the head. Skyrim probably will win GOTY and sells millions of copies. I read just about every topic on these forums and I come to realized that you can't please everyone no matter what is in the game.

Yeah.... nobody will be active on this forum for AT LEAST 3 weeks after skyrim comes out. xD

Ah I'm sure the complaint threads will run rampant on the forum at that time, but who cares? We who are looking forward to this god of games wont be here!

Yeah.... nobody will be active on this forum for AT LEAST 3 weeks after skyrim comes out. xD

It'll be pretty funny how that will work. 11-10-11 10:00pm: 150% forum activity 11-11-11 4:00am: 0% forum activity

From what I have seen, Ninety Nine percent of Skyrim is better than Oblivion.

I mean in all features, it is better, except for the fusion of armor chest piece with grieves.

Dragons. I like everything about them.

Crafting, smithing, relationships. These kind of little things tie a character to the world and are great for roleplaying.

Radiant story/ radiant AI. It seems like this time around theyll be able to realise what they had intended for Oblivion, maybe even better. The way it is described it should ensure great replayability.
