A good tune would be nice.

Is anyone else anticipating the game's soundtrack like I am? What I hope for is, a LOT more music for different parts of the world, and music to suit a specific place too. I don't want One piece of music for this half of the world, and another for this half. And 2 pieces for when I'm inside shops/houses and one for when I'm in a dungeon, and like 3 for when I'm fighting something.

Also, I want fight music to play, after I have engaged my opponent so they can actually take me by surprise.

I mean yeah, more than one place can have the same track and it would be fine, but maybe make a lot more tracks so spice it up a bit? Also, special tavern music would be nice. And cooler combat music would be appreciated.

The music for fighting dragons should be epic and amazing, too.

That would all be vurry vurry naice. :disguise:

How about live music in the taverns?

Subtle though, not like the molesting musicians in Ass Creed.

You know I am probably in the minority in saying this but I cant really say that I am much of a fan of Jeremy Soul's work, for some reason his work on the Elder Scrolls series seems to lack emotion for lack of a better word. As I said I am probably in the minority in this but it would be nice to see a change in the music design for Skyrim.

I want a lot of drums in the music. Deep, booming drums. Really though, I'm not too big on the music in the game, just as long as it fits the mood decently. The only part I actually care about is the theme song, and I think Skyrim's fits in very well.

I wish there was a way to mix and match ambient music clips like Brink does with their gun noises, that would be awesome, but very complex, and not all of the outcomes would sound all that great, but hey, you get more music. Also, I agree completely about the combat music thing, but I think it should work like this: Original music playing, and enemy attacks you, original music gets quieter, then no music at all, then low battle music kicks in, As the battle goes on or as more enemies join in, the music picks up and gets louder, after defeating the enemy, the music becomes silent, and after a few seconds, the ambient music slowly comes in, quiet at first, but it gets louder until it is at the normal volume.

I never particularly noticed the music in Oblivion. In fact it was to the point where I just didn't care and turned it off and listened to my iPod with more suitable music.

Tend to agree with your characterisation of Soule's work, but I think it's a virtue rather than a vice. The music shouldn't really be overly intrusive - apart from a rousing title track. Even the battle music shouldn't really be too aggressive; leave the aural impact to the sound effects. Aside from that, I prefer the more muted and subtle moods that Soule evokes.

I like Soule, but honestly at this point in the Elder Scroll's life as a now highly successful series I wouldn't mind something a little more interesting and dynamic. My pick for composer would be Jack Wall. His work on Myst III Exile was phenomenal, using a real orchestra and many exotic instruments. Mostly, i find his compositional style hooky and aurally sublime.
