Good vampire mods?

Post » Sat Aug 20, 2011 10:00 am

Hi all, well, i'm having the perfect playthrough atm, it's a blast! But after playing a mageish male and a pure warrior, i'ma make a new female char, who is going to be a DBH and thieves guild + pells gate (shezries towns) kinda girl, so i thought that i would really like to try being a vampire, but there are so many different vampire mods and i'm kinda confused as to which i should choose, could you help?!

Specifically, i'd like being able to shapeshift (Maybe bat form?) as that is too cool - i saw that feature in a mod called "Terran vampires" but the description pretty much just says "New abilities, shapeshifting and more.." so, post your favourite vampire mod and tell me why it's good! :D

well LTD is popular, I've found it to not be overly complex, but offers a little bit of everything and has a good well rounded experience.

I've read about terran vampires and it looks awesome, but unfinished. Should be great when it's done though.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Nekhsnimsk's Awesome Vampire Mod, it actually switched me from Unholy Darkness. Admittedly, it was partially that madmole wanted money, but mostly that it didn't make vampires overpowered, but at the same time, less meticulous. I found Nekhanimal's to actually be more fun without Coffin Deprevation, but increased sun damage and more unique powers. Plus, vampirism is based entirely off of blood. Though either is CERTAINLY a good choice, IMO, Nekhanimal's is better.

P.S. Sorry for the Caps, i have to learn how to underline stuff.

Some posts have been deleted, as discussion of Unholy Darkness is still off-limits at this time.

LTD's has some shifting. You can turn into wolf, mist, swarm of bats, or monstrous form. You can also turn into smoke and go through doors all on the fly. It has vampire hunters to watch out for and you need to feed every so often. There are some quests thrown in that pits you against a sect of vampire hunters looking for a holy artifact. Other benefits include most (not all) nature and undead creatures aren't aggressive to you. Other vampires are friendlies as well.

Training Cattle is a nice little known quest mod that lets you train cattle ("cows") and make your own vampires. The objective is to get Cyrodiil to like vampires and eventually become emperor while taking on the old guard vampires that see humans as nothing but juicebags. Other perks include receiving houses and stores from loyal cattle. The latest version can let you play as a "cow" but I have never tried that part.

Scanti has a couple that affect aesthetics. Vampire Race Disabler lets you choose to disable vampire eyes, aging, and morphs. Really good if you use a custom race. A lot of those end up with googly eyes unless you go through some hoops. This mod is an easier solution. It also addresses the ugly face bug. You still have to load the save twice though. The second is called Vampire Morphs and has 4 vampire morphs to choose from. They range from just the fangs to really angry.

I also use a mod called Vampire Ashes by Endrek. It makes it so when vamps die they catach fire and turn into a charred corpse. I never tried the one mentioned by Nevzat but it looks to be the same idea.
