Goodsprings Convention

Searchlight Convention

Introduction:

It has been three months since the Lucky 38 Convention. There is now a massive wall around outer Vegas, keeping it safe from outside threats. The NCR and the United Mojave Army easily defeated Caesar's Legion, and now the NCR has a couple bases along the eastern side of the colorado river. Healthy trading relationships have blossomed between the different Mojave states, and they are all getting along very well. The cure for Nightkin schizophrenia was successful, and despite Neil's distrust in the Enclave, Henry successfully brought the cure to black mountain. The OSI now has a place to stay in Goodsprings, and with the help of Novac, has spread schools to settlements throughout the mojave to help educate it. Primm has returned the NCRCF to its original purpose. House and the NCR are finally getting along, and the different groups have gotten together to further solve diplomatic issues.

Representatives:

Robert Edwin House- Gingy

*David walks into the large building with a new suit and tie, followed by two securitrons. He signals for them to leave, and they go to wait outside. He takes a seat on the large comfortable chair, labeled "Mr. House".

Ambassador Draiman-Mr. House

*Pulls out some paper and writes on it, preparing the beginning of his talk with a friendly greeting.*

"Thank you, NCR and Novac, for hosting this convention. House would think it boring to keep having conventions at the same place.

May I have some wine and a brahmin steak?"

*Passes the time and falls asleep in his chair, as his journey from the strip was a long one.*

OOC: I'm out for the night, guys.

Representative Steve

*Steve struts into the room happy with the progress that's been made. The NCR OSI had just gotten set up in the old school house, although he didn't think the director liked him very much. Things were going well for Goodsprings with the I-15 back open for business and most travellers and visitors to Vegas stopping by the Goodsprings source for a refill on their way to and from the city of sin. Easy Pete's met up with the Freesiders and they successfully moved the old printing equipment from the bottle factory to Novac with the help of a caravan. Unforunetly for the deal it ended up costing 20000 in labor cost because of having to pay the caravans. Goodsprings and Freeside still await payment for the equipment scavenged and moved.

A few persons from all over, Freeside, the NCR and even Novac, made a journey to settle in Goodsprings, causing some tension between the former Freeside residents and former squatters of the locale. The Goodsprings milita, while inequiped, made progress in becoming a permanent fixture in Goodsprings life, although the town council had to raise the price for the well to 6 caps a drink due to lack of funds to pay it. In any case the militia has taken out the geckos and coyotes in Goodsprings terrority, although the cazardors and radscorpins still remain.

There is some internal tension on the town council between Trudy and Rep Steve, as Steve continues to go for more power and larger say. It's seems as if an election will be held soon. The real question is, will the recent refugees to Goodsprings have a say.

"Hello everyone, hey sever can I get a Bighorn steak? Brahmins not really my style."

*Marcus Draco walks through the door wearing the suit he inherated from his father, as usual, but there was now a pin with a four pointed star on it. The star represented the state of Cottonwood, he decided that would be an appropriate name for the region. Cottonwood Cove has since been renamed to Japa (again they found a text book talking about Japan but the n was missing) after the mysterious land that gave them the idea for plateau farming. The other four towns in Cottonwood are Searchlight, Nelson, Novac, and Nipton.*

Hello, glad all of you could make it.
Our militia has grown strong, thanks to the ever generous House, and we have full control of the eastern shore the Colorado River. The road to Vegas is safer than ever. Not only that but our people are prospering. We already have some factories built, we have added many buildings to Novac as it expands further, we have a school now, Nipton's two operating casinos are duing fantastic, Searchlight is producing a lot of gold, and we have just finished a proposed flag for the Mojave.

http://s1195.photobucket.com/albums/aa389/Sebor13/?action=view¤t=MFlag.png The big star represents the Strip's state and the five smaller stars represent the other states.

It is off center but just a prototype.

OOC: Double post, I'll just respond to FalloutBob with it.

You have not yet recieved your payment? Damn my assistant! He can do nothing on his own. He's supposed to take some of the work load off of me but instead he causes more.

I will make sure you are paid in full before you go back to Goodsprings.

Oh and did I mention that the people of Novac voted that my title of mayor to be changed to govenor?

It sounds so weird introducing myself as Govenor Marcus Draco instead of Mayor Marcus Draco.

I would like to ask a favor of the nightkin of Black Mountain, is it too much to ask for you to help us remove the radioactive waste from the Toxic Waste Dump near Novac to the usless Walking Box Cavern? We need that radiation away from our town, we have a plan that involves using that area.

You will be well paid and we will use explosives to permenantly close off that cavern forever after the waste is moved there.

EDIT: I'm going to bed, I have to get up in seven hours, good night everybody.

OOC: sorry everybody, looks like I missed a lot from earlier :(

Marcus - Leader of the Jacobstown Mutants

*Marcus walks into the building, wearing his usual scrap armor and headset, a content look on his weathered, green face. Jacobstown's settlement has prospered in the recent months and the hospital has become a safe haven for anyone in need of medical treatment. Jacobstown's guards have secured the roadway around Red Rock, killing off both cazadors and fire geckos, and effectively making the route safe for the first time in many years. The cure for Nightkin schizophrenia has also been shared with the Nightkin of Black Mountain, and with it's success brought a new trust between Jacobstown and Black Mountain. Marcus is satisfied with the current state of things, and is especially happy with the success of the cure for the Nightkin of Black Mountain.*

Hello everyone, I'm glad to be back at another convention. Jacobstown has grown since we last met, and our settlement with the Followers of the Apocalypse at Red Rock Canyon is doing quite well. We are also very satisfied with the success of the cure for the Nightkin of Black Mountain. Our farms have grown to where we have a surplus of Bighorners, and with the wealth made from trading in the past months we have been able to arm a Super Mutant militia to patrol the roads around Red Rock and Jacobstown, making the whole area much safer.

*Marcus looks at Representative Steve*

I've been thinking, since Goodsprings and Jacobstown both patrol the same stretch of the I-15, maybe we should work out a deal to have cheaper trading prices with each other, especially with any military supplies. I think it would benefit both of our militia forces if something like that was enacted.

I am willing to send a few Mutants to help you out if Black Mountain doesn't want to.

@Novac

Mistakes happen to the best of us. It was great doing business with your town, Novac and Goodsprings will have a prosperous future my friend.

@Everyone
Over the past few months as I've been setting up the Goodsprings Militia and dealing with the new refugees I was thinking, we need a regional caravan of our own. I was thinking of a transnational caravan owned by all groups who want to be a part. The idea is simple, each town would create a trading post for this caravan company. The company would have free movement throughout the Mojave and into the NCR. It's funding would be from each town and it would face no taxes. This caravan would be wholly owned by the governments of the Mojave with all post profit revenue going towards each member state equally. Since I proposed this idea I would call for myself to run this operation.

The caravan would trade all the legal goods of the Mojave between settlements and make it easier for all of us to direct the building of our nations and our economies. The caravan would buy all of the Brahmin from the Gun Runners and Crimson Caravan in the Mojave, although they could keep their trading post outside of Vegas of course. The caravan working in coordination with our town militias would be kept safe from all wasteland dangers. Best of all, all profits would go back to our communities, our militias and our economic development. Everyone Goodsprings is starting the "Greater Mojave Caravan Group" or GMCG. Would anyone else like to become involved in history?

edit: didn't see your post tycho

@Jacobstown

If this Greater Mojave Caravan Group gets off the ground we can have the company subsidize trade between our towns. I think Jacobstown would greatly benefit from this group.

Ambassador Lobotomite - Black Mountain

*The cure for his kin's schizophrenia was a complete success, no longer would Lobo have to worry about Nightkin wandering too far from Black Mountain and causing havoc amongst his new allies. As he saw the improvement among those Nightkin who were the most unstable he began finding a new found respect for Marcus, Neil and even the Enclave scientist, Dr. Henry. With the cure's success, the purchase of Quarry Junction and the shared occupation of Sloan with Goodsprings, Black Mountain was thriving and for the first time resembled a community instead of a nightmare. As promised Novac was sent monthly shipments of material mined from Quarry Junction, but most was kept and used to create a wall around the summit of Black Mountain which now represented defense instead of containment.*

*Lobo walked into the building more at ease then he can ever remember being. He found the couch with his homes name on it and sat down.*

Greetings everyone. Joining with the rest of the Mojave in these conventions has aided and improved Black Mountain more then I could have imagined, thank you all.

Thank you Marcus, but I would be glad to send some of my kin to aid in this endeavor, we certainly have the numbers to do so now. Some of them are still distrustful of humans, but many of want to use their new found sanity and awareness to the fullest.

*the recently promoted Major Wilson entered the room with an Guest, an Brotherhood solider wearing tb-51. Along with changes in the Mojave, the NCR made peace with Brotherhood forces, with the BOS being merged into the army as an elite fighting and research core. Although many NCR people wanted the Brotherhood to be killed, many more realised it was better to make peace over the high death toll along with Brotherhood knowledge…*

Major Wilson- The NCR

“Hello everyone one, you may be wonder who my friend is, this is Advisor stone of the NCR brotherhood. We have recently made peace with the brotherhood, which have since become an elite fighting & research core.

“Indeed” stone said,” as well as advising the NCR, I have come to ask about the Mojave branch of the brotherhood? We understand the bunker was destroyed but did any survive?

@Goodsprings:

I am very much against this idea beacuse its basically a Government/goodsprings owned version of the crimson caravan, even the name sounds the same. In fact the only difference I can see it that you get the profits instead of people running the caravan it.

I also don’t see the point of it, the Crimson caravan is already doing this job and has successfully been doing it for 130 years. You’re caravan idea is Cleary a power play… I’m beginning to think power is getting to your head Steve.

Also Gun runners sell guns… not Brahmin? Think you’re confused Steve .

*About a week after the Prison was fully repaired and placed under the command of the now Prison-Governor Meyers and his Deputy; Beagle, the first prisoners started to arrive and were soon put to work renovating Primm, they have finished work on the Casino, returning it to it's former glory. The renovation of the casino, it's prime position on the I-15 and control of the I-15, I-164 junction have massively increased Primm's wealth, allowing Primm to create a large security force, although about two-thirds of it is employed at the Prison. Since the renovation of the casino is complete the prisoners have been doing only small tasks*

(OOC - sorry for not being very active in the last convention, things got busy. Also what would you guys say was the maximum capacity of the prison, In game it's pretty small, but there was an entire prison + an entire vault + all the guys out in the wasteland of powder gangers)

Ambassador Ryan Brown - Mayor and Representative of Primm

@Ambassador Lobotomite - As you have control of the Quarry I would like to make a proposal: we will send about half of all capable prisoners to the Quarry to mine for you in exchange for 10-15% of all profits generated from the Quarry. Primm would be fully responsible for the security of the prisoners and will be fully liable for any damage caused by them.

@Representative Steve - I agree with Major Wilson, we feel the need for a state owned caravan is limited at best, the crimson caravan is sufficient for our needs at the moment, it also helps us build a better relationship and strengthen ties with the NCR.

Govenor Marcus Draco, Leader of the State of Cottonwood

Well he makes more mistakes than most, I sometimes wish I had my old assistant again. He was the best one I had until I found out he had been stealing money, buying weapons from caravans, and then selling them to the Vipers. Turns out he had been a member of their group for years, that was one of the last public executions Novac had. He was very helpful until then though.

I do not find this group to be necessary, we're all growing stronger at different rates. If this group aims to halt trade with foreigners then I cannot join, trade between the NCR and NV is the only way we can keep ourselves economically stable.

Excellent! I thank-you my friend.

I suppose I should tell everybody what Novac is up to, we have two big plans going on.

Firstly we plan to make a new river that goes across the road to the 188 Trading Post, we will put a bridge over it, and then across the western side of Novac. It will go down further, crossing ovr the road again, it will go through Searchlight and then down back to the Colorado River, south of Japa.

We have also made a great discovery.

We have discovered a Crashed Vertibird south of Novac, it has been moved to the REPCONN Facility which the Bright Brotherhood and the two doctors who were trained by the Followers of the Apocalypse have transformed into a science lab-hospital hybrid. They're working with local mechanics to get it up and running, if the NCR could give us any sort of blueprints for them that would be great. Maybe some day we could actually make more of them, if we could we would be willing to sell them to anybody who is here currently.

Hello Mr. Brown, if we are to make our irrigation system would you like us to make a lake near Primm? That way if you ever wished to grow crops water would be easily accessable.

*Abruptly wakes up from his sleep, and pulls out a small-scale old world flag from his pack and sets it over the edge of the cushion of his seat, to remind him of what he works for.*

Ambassador David Draiman-Mr. House

I am quite sorry, I believe I may have dozed off before the other ambassadors arrived.

@NCR: I thank you for your aid against the Legion. They are easily no longer a threat to us. As for the Brotherhood in the Mojave, *Purposely coughs*, it was destroyed. The few that were outside obviously high-tailed it out of the area, and are either hiding out together, or split up to join their own lives. OOC: Not trying to sound picky, but it will sound more formal and easier for us to understand if your grammar and spelling is better.

@Novac: Mr. House's Securitrons have found an abandoned pre-war military base. Quite advanced, actually. We have accumulated a LOT of energy weapons from it, and as they are far more advanced than lead-spitting guns, would you like the Mojave Force to become equipped with them? Also, know that the 188 is in House's territory, and diverting a river in no way makes it your land. I'm not opposed to it, and Novac is allowed to have access, but it is still House's land.

@Primm: Be damn careful with these prisoners. Giving them means to work in quarry junction could easily lead to the same way the original breakout happened.

OOC: I'm fixing up the map now. I'll post it in a bit.

I would love to start equiping my men with energy weapons along with the weapons we have now. It wouldn't feel right just taking them though, perhaps we can make some sort of deal with House in exchange for some? And if so I would only like half of them at the most.

And we're going to make sure not to cross into House's territory, I was just using the 188 as a refence point because I can never remember the numbers on these roads, and 188 is easy to remember.

And I think Primm shouldn't overpopulate the prisons, if there are too many I could take some.

I am planning to build a prison near Nelson, they could work in the factories with the less dangerous equipment to get out of jail earlier.

Ambassador David Draiman-Robert Edwin House

By all means, no one has any problem with any of the five states crossing into House's territory.

*Points at the NCR ambassador and the soldier next to him*.

It's them I don't want in House's territory.

As for the energy weapons, there is nothing else we can do with them except for create standard equipment for the army. This Pre-war military base has quite a few weapons. Somehow it survived the great war.

I would recommend giving your standard infantry the plasma rifle, and your sharpshooters, (snipers) the lasers as they are more accurate. That's accounting to secondaries too. We have some plasma and laser pistols as well.

Traders across the mojave also have their hands on some Energy Weapons, as well as I bet we could scavenge some from Hidden Valley by excavating the ruins.

House is the executive of the Army and Police Force that we are forming for the Mojave, so he will be in control of the weapons we have found. Nevertheless, again, there are enough to stock an entire army, so all a state would have to do is request a shipment of weapons, ammo, et cetera, and pay a caravan company to ship them. Although Novac and goodsprings, so far, are the only states that has joined the Mojave United Army. That might change in the future.

As for a deal, I have a bunch of copies copies of a book Mr. House wrote and published about the science of longevity, energy weapons, scientific weapons, his view on the history of the last few decades of Pre-War america, and a biography on himself, including everything up to 2274, some medicine sections, and lots of more neat stuff.

I want some of the copies to go out to Novac's state, so they can learn about the man and ideals that they are fighting for, and not to mention, it will have important science that might prove useful to them.

Blue= Robert Edwin House
Green= Novac
Red= Jacobstown
Orange= State of Utobitha
Yellow= Goodpsprings
Brown= Primm.

Edit: I REALLY REALLY need a Boomers representative to join. A seventh state would be great, as the north is unoccupied at the moment.

As for the energy weapons, there is nothing else we can do with them except for create standard equipment for the army. With the amount of weapons accumulated, you'd might as well just drop the guns you've given your soldiers. This Pre-war factory is still producing weapons as we speak. Somehow it survived the great war, and someone brought it back to working condition. Possibly the work of the Enclave. There are SO many weapons and SO much ammo coming out of it that you wouldn't believe your eyes if we showed it to you.

I would recommend giving your standard infantry the plasma rifle, and your sharpshooters, (snipers) the lasers as they are more accurate. That's accounting to secondaries too. We have an influx of plasma and laser pistols as well.

Perhaps we may find a Pre-war power armor storage and finally bring it into army ranks like the Brotherhood and Enclave did. But for now, that's just fantasy.

Although Novac, so far, is the only state that has joined the Mojave United Army.

OOC: Doesn't that sounds a little too OP?

Even if there are that many weapons my men are better trained with guns, a good amount would like to switch to energy weapons but the majority prefer lead spitters.

And I believe Goodsprings has joined, Novac has plenty of weapons but they may be lacking and would probably love to get their hands on energy weapons.

And we could add House's biography to our school, its made up of people from the ages of seven to fifty-nine. They're currently on the Enclave, the Chosen One and the NCR in the 2240s. They could move on to House when they start Mojave history next month.

OOC: Kind of. I want a good source of energy weapons, as they would make the army more advanced, and seem more civilized and advanced in isolation than the NCR or Legion. The Power Armor thing isn't reality. David just wishes he could get his hands on some. As the Van Graffs don't have a representative, it's kind of the only thing I can dig up out of this situation.

Ambassador David Draiman-Mr. House

Excellent, I will have a few copies of the book sent to Novac along with the Energy Weapons in a caravan.

EDIT: OOC: I have a great idea. Because House is from the old world, and that's what he is somewhat trying to bring back, we could take the old world flag and put the six stars on it ,seven most likely if we get the boomers to join, (like the symbol that you posted) instead of the thirteen for the commonwealths before the great war.

OOC: But we could do that with an abandon military base, a factory making them sounds like way to much.

Great, do I have permission to reverse engineer the vertibird and build a prison in Nelson?

OOC: I edited the posts to make them less OP.

Ambassador David Draiman- Mr. House

Of course. Although I hope you don't mind if House somewhat looks over the Prison once you start actually filling it with prisoners to see what its goals are in person.

House would also be quite interested in seeing this Vertibird, so he would like to look over and possibly aid with bringing it back to working condition. If we can figure out how to remake it, I bet we could make several, with the appropriate resources. And that would be very valuable for military and travel.

Not at all, in fact I think its a good idea that House looks over all of the prisons to make sure they're safe and not violating anybody's rights.

That would be great, I was hoping that we could rebuild them and make it far easier to travel the Mojave.

Good... Good...

Now... I need a permanent contract with one of the caravans here in the Mojave to ship these weapons to Novac and possibly Goodsprings.

House would obviously pay for this, by the way.

Representative Steve

@Jacobstown

If this Greater Mojave Caravan Group gets off the ground we can have the company subsidize trade between our towns. I think Jacobstown would greatly benefit from this group.

Representative Marcus - Mayor of Jacobstown and Red Rock

Yes, that would definitely benefit Jacobstown, when will the Caravan Group get off the ground? Jacobstown can provide funds to help them get started if necessary.

Ambassador Lobotomite - Black Mountain

Thank you Marcus, but I would be glad to send some of my kin to aid in this endeavor, we certainly have the numbers to do so now. Some of them are still distrustful of humans, but many of want to use their new found sanity and awareness to the fullest.

I'm glad to hear all of them are benefiting from the cure, and yes, I think it would be best if Black Mountain helped to clean up the waste, with you being closer to the waste site and all.

*Marcus sits back and listens to everyone else speak for a while, preparing his big statement*

Eh-hem. I have a proposal to make. There is a large unoccupied area of land north of Mt. Charleston, and with all of the abandoned farms and farmland sitting up there, I was planning to have Jacobstown and Red Rock settlers occupy the area and start a few farms. Our Bighorners need more grazing land, and we would also benefit from growing several different crops such as maize, pinto beans, honey mesquite pods, et cetera. This would improve trade for Jacobstown and also provide the Mojave with a larger supply of Mojave-grown food.

Does anyone have any problems with this idea?

OOC: The new map looks great :)
