Gore Level ? Oblivion Quality or Fallout 3 quality?

Post » Sat Aug 27, 2011 5:40 am

Hopefully a comfoetable mid-level gore, I want more than the occassional blood smear, but I dont want a guy's head exploding because I bumped into him on my way through town. seeing as to how we're using axes and swords and the like, I would like some finisher move decapitations and dismemberments tho :)

I expect it to be far more "gritty" than TES4 but hopefully not over-the-top gore like Fallout, not that it's a bad thing... if they had an option for turning blood/gore off (Like Assassin's Creed games do) I could play it around my kid, heh.

I'd prefer not to watch my enemies explode in slow motion or anything like that -because it's kind of minging- but more gore than Oblivion but I'd rather not have dismemberment and heads flying off, to be honest.

The op committed a felony by putting oblivion and quality in the same sentence other than that i prefer mount & blade kind of gore

There was understandably more gore n fallout 3 than oblivion due to the use of guns and having only a few specific areas on the body to target. Gunshots are expected to blow up heads but I wont be disapointed when my sword doesn't make my enemy blow up. In theory it would be nice to have tons of hitboxes which reacted differently to each strike but that is asking too much. The finishing moves should be gory though as they are 'scripted' so can be made to look great , already love it when he boots the dog :)

A good portion of the gore in Fallout 3 was caused not because "it's a gun game" but because the Fallout series has always been full of over-the-top, black humor, absurdity. The gratuitous exploding bodies goes along with the exploding nuclear cars and the soda company that sold radioactive soda (that killed dozens in focus testing) with a smile.

As much as Skyrim has? Thank you.

Fallout 3's gore was ridiculously over the top. So I certainly hope, and know (because Todd has stated) that Skyrim won't be as ridiculous as Fallout 3.

Magic should have gore and high level blades should have gore as Umbra should be able to cut the human body to pieces but something like a normal iron or steel sword should have a limited amount.

Perfectly said. :goodjob:

It does however does not need to be over the top such as Fallout 3's absurd level of gore but it fit the insane nature that is the Fallout universe.

Exactly. I always thought it was kind of ridiculous to bludgeon a guy to death with an axe and his body be in perfect, identifiable condition.
