Gore Level ? Oblivion Quality or Fallout 3 quality?

Post » Sat Aug 27, 2011 10:46 am

so oblivion would ocasionally give you a blood smear when enemies got hit (including mudcrabs) fallout 3 gave you messy exploding body parts

so will skyrim give is gore to match that of fallout 3 or the same gore oblivion gave us ?

They said that there's not as much as gore in Skyrim that there were in Fallout 3, but they would be able to add it. But definetly more blood than in Oblivion.

It would be nice if you could behead people but I don't want exploding corpses and crap, dosen't fit too well with TES imo.

Find a happy medium between the two, like decapitations etc are cool or caving a skull in.

As far as I know, Bethesda is aiming for some gore but not like Fallout over the top gore. Dismemberment is something they are still playin' around with and to my knowledge not confirmed.

I luv gore! Let it be dynamic. Adjustable in config. Cuz i like to see alot of blood on slashing. Dismemberment would be cooool! (no sadism lol) But keep it at realistic level. :D

Double post edit:
When we got dismembered the blood from vein will come out at over rate. Got see soldier of fortune 3 vid. It look too much but it really look like that when your arm goes off.
And make sure to make it adjustable (For fans in germany :) )

More like Oblivion probably. From what i've seen sofar in the demos I doubt there will be any gore except for some scripted events.

Had much fun with that mod in Oblivion:http://img7.imagebanana.com/img/uoh9oisj/ScreenShot75.png http://img7.imagebanana.com/img/ti0jgls9/ScreenShot42.png

A nordic game without gore would be a joke. Fallout 3's gore I'd say plus 10 times.

Hopefully Oblivion level, but with better textures.

Was so glad I could turn that off in Dragon Age 1..... it just looked so silly.

You could wash it off, when you went into water a few seconds.

Somewhere in the middle. Skyrim wouldn't feel right with Fallout gore. But needs more than OB

something in between, finishing moves in which you cut off the head would be ok, but no massive explosion of the whole body after shooting an arrow in his feet ...
For normal fight it's great what we've seen at E3 (To example the scene when the blade runs through the throut of the guy, even if it's not realistic at all^^)

I liked the Fallout gore but exploding limbs only work with guns, and usually even then it doesn't make much sense how it happened...but hit a guy with a sword or axe and his arm explodes into a messy pile of meaty chunks? No. They need more gore than Oblivion that's for sure, but not to the extent of Fallout gore.

Edit - Passing thought, I didn't even realize you could get blood on your weapon in OB until I'd been playing religiously for months, cause it happens so rarely.

If I see my weapon pass through someone, I want at least blood. If it looks like my weapon has gone through their entire body, the body should be cut in half. That being said, I'd rather it never look like my weapon has sliced through their entire body as that is kind of unrealistic.

Around the same level as Oblivion, in reality its very rare to chop off limbs, a head, or god forbid cut the body in two. Gore isn't a pretty thing, once you see it in real life its hard to enjoy playing a game with it.
