Gore Level

... high-pressure water-hose blood fountains from one enemy that turns everything in sight red.

I want this.

I would like more gore than Oblivion.
Realistic amount.

I dont see why they would leave out that small detail...

They probably look at every other recent RPG without visible cut damage, dragon age, warcraft, mass effect, fallout, and then they don't feel so bad about cutting it (pun intended..?)

If there's gore I want to be able to turn it off. It disgusts me.

Could this poll possibly be more biased?

I voted for the Hello Kitty option for this reason. Polls are meaningless when the options are named in a manner that mocks certain choices. There are many dozens (hundreds) of great games that don't feature gore.

I think that about a Fallout level is good. But I don't want it to where I hit his arm and both his legs and head fly off.

Yes but that should not make it ok, doing just what everybody else is doing is quite frankly stupid they should listen to their fans, anyways I hope they try to break the norm and not follow the other RPG favorites.

Lets hope they overcome it friend...

I'd like to see a toggleable option for gore. Myself, I'd like to see realistic gore, eg getting your head sliced should decapitate or at least make a deep incision. But I appreciate not everyone is like me and some like more gore and others like less or none.

Can't see gory-gore happening in this one, though. Will have to rely on mods like Deadly Reflex again.

While the gore seemed a bit overdone in Fallout 3 due to using guns and how body parts practically exploded off. I think Skyrim would actually benefit from such a system since your generally using bladed or heavy blunt weapons that should realistically dismember people. Obviously it should be tuned down though so you don't get body exploding from arrows and such.

Not sure I understand when gaming ventured off into a realm where it is encouraged to virtually play out gory murderous intent yet natural nudity and hanky-panky is considered taboo even whilst other media use it as a legitimate story device.

I agree with this, but elder scrolls does need some level of gore to an extent....fallout was over the top.
But but fighting in the dark ages etc ,was brutal & gory.....i mean it's swords, axes, arrows,& magic etc,NOT tickling sticks.
Besides we have finishing moves now ( which i'm really pleased about )...which could indicate there will be more gore.
Which is good in my book, but just not over the top.

I only used the hello kitty reference because it's a good example. If you would like, You could also say Legend of Zelda. Fair enough?

Realistic violence - I don't want parts flying all over paper doll physic style, but I'd like to see that my weapons actually do what they're supposed to do. It's not a big deal to me but it's a nice touch to see your arrow stuck in a guy's chest, or his arm lopped off by your axe or whatever.

LOTS AND LOTS of gore please.

If I hit someones arm with a power swing it should be lopped off and blood should spray or it should show a pretty good size gash. If I power swing and hit them in the head it should be a decapitation.

I am not a fan of unnecessary gore. Infact, i think it's a disgusting and cheap shock effect in movies like Saw. It can be too much, but it can definitely also be too little. It make no sense if there is no blood even though you know there should be. I would be okay with something like Fallout 3.

Um, didn't Fallout 3 had the decapitating, exploding head thing? Or was that Fallout 2? That kind of gore was a really, really big reason why I won't ever play that game. Gore is a little too unnecessary for me.

Even just gushing blood is too much for me at times!

Play a mage and burn/electrocute/freeze stuff if you don't like blood. :)

I want to see the gore lie somewhere between Fallout 3 and Oblivion. Seeing cuts and scars on my enemies would be cool, too.

Better. I was only busting your balls a little bit on the Hello Kitty thing because you obviously like Slayer and Metallica. I did not expect anyone to take me seriously or make a big deal out of it.

dude why?? it does not make sense to cut someone's head off with a sharp pointy blade that was clearly designed for such a function, and blood!! YUCK omg its sick I don't want to see blood come out of all the innocent people I slaughter, that would be sick, ewwww, I mean why would you want to see that, your a sick sick man....

OK, uber sarcasm OFF

frankly people who like killing stuff and prefer not to see blood or gore freak me out more than that Hannibal guy,, in real life I would not even step on an ant even if I feel like crap, but in a game when I kill a bandit that is just asking for it I expect some violent stuff to happen.

killing people and NOT showing the effects of such an action is as pointless as showing over the top gore, both are distasteful and unnecessary, in a game you either kill people or you don't, and kids should not be allowed to play games where you kill stuff, no matter what they are.

You can play as a mage in Fallout? I thought everyone used guns?

If you mean in TES games, I tend to use magic a lot anyway, but some quests may make me feel that I may need a blade or a bow and arrow to assassinate someone (like SI gatekeeper). Besides, I like using blades and blunt weapons in both Morrowind and Oblivion. =)

Um, why? I just get grossed out really, really easily. It's not like I'm going to go kill people in real life because of a video game... right?

Even if I were to go on a killing spree in real life, wouldn't I be freaked out by the blood and faint anyway after killing, like, one person?

Oh, I voted for it to be like Oblivion. Maybe a little bit of blood, but not like ridiculous like Fallout or Gears of War (which I always censor the gore in the options menu).
