Do you think Beth will add gore to this game. Do you want them to?

I want realistic gore, dismemberment and decapitations, etc. And a much more mature and darker setting.

I'm assuming they will probably make it just as brutal as Oblivion, a lot of blood but not much more than that. I would like to see it though

It probably will not be in the game. It would be a nice surprise if it was, though.

I agree. Mature, as in much less than Fallout 3, but still a bit more than Oblivion.

I assume it's in, and that they haven't overdone it (Fallout springs to mind) - so I'm happy.

The teaser gives a provisional PEGI 18 rating, so it would suggest for a possibility of some gore. I guess.

Realistic gore is fine, but I really don't want the over-the-top gore of Fallout 3 (Headshot with pistol = head asplode!?).

I don't think we'll be seeing Fallout 3 or Gears of War levels of gore, but instead something more along the lines of what Oblivion had. A good amount of blood, but no limbs flying off. (Except for maybe in the forms of items like the mother's head or Morrowind's hilariously awesome severed Nord leg. :P )

Oblivion was arguably gorier than Morrowind, although I think that was really just a reflection of artistic choice rather than a move towards mature content. If it were slightly more gory than that, I think I'd be happy. I'm still not sure how I feel about dismemberment, but if it was done right (not happening every damn fight) I wouldn't complain.

One thing that TES has avoided, and one of the main reasons I prefer it to other RPGS...no flashes of light of showers of sparks when I hit an enemy. How does that make sense?

Anyways...it's not about the amount of blood so much as the way characters respond to a hit. They should stagger, fall, the blade should "bouce" or drag off rather than pass straight through, unless it is a killing blow in which case thrusts should penetrate the body. Assassins Creed had pretty realistic "gore."

I'm hoping that they will add some death animations and not just ragdoll physics when someone dies.

I want to be able to chop off limbs, just like Fallout 3. And maybe certain spells would make you explode in a bloody mess. :hubbahubba:

Yeah, that's pretty much how I feel, but am too tired/lazy to properly type out.

On par with previous TES-games. Something not too unrealistically clean, yet not getting in visual way either.

I don't mind body parts flying around and lots of blood during combat and so on, all of that is fine.
But when you say "gore", I'm thinking "marauder dungeons filled with bleeding, crucified victims, necromancer lairs with corpses hanging from the ceiling, an arena with red handprints on the doors and long trails of blood on the floor and on the walls". They had it in Oblivion, and they made it even worse in Fallout 3.... so I think, this type of gore will definitely be in, especially if they want to create a dark atmosphere. But no, I don't want it. It's unrealistic and stupid, and in a way, very childish.

Gory fights, yes. Gory dungeons, please no.

I don't want excessive gore (i.e. every kill with a sword results in the person exploding a la Bloody Mess) but having dismemberment and a reasonable amount of blood is perfectly acceptable.

I do think the gore in Fallout was a little over the edge, but there are times were I like it and times when I am disgusted by it

-snip-

Gory dungeons can be done right, but they have to be a hell of a lot rarer than in Oblivion and more subtle.

I think a dungeon that is crucial to the story of Skyrim could be made quite scary if we were properly immersed and gore was used subtly to imply what has happened to those who came before you.

Yes, sometime it was too unrealistic, shoot leg and it flies out? Both there were moments like chopping a raider's head with a sword and watch it rolling. That was cool and I want to see this in Skyrim.

Oblivion gore was fine, things from DR however are going too far for the TES series.

Realistic decapitation and gore. No bloodrain after a single dagger slashing on a Heavily armored enemy, just no.

No. I hate Fallout's excessive gore. Grim-dark edginess can go jump in a lake. Oblivion was fine except for excessive usage of corpses in certain places.
