Got Dead Money, but deleted Fallout New Vegas "correctio

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 11:03 pm

Here is the deal, I played thru New Vegas, then deleted the game and saved files.
Along comes Dead Money, I buy it and reinstall Fallout New Vegas. When I get to the starting point of Dead Money, it tell me I need a skill level of 20.
On my "new" game I am only at skill level 2. I do not want to replay the whole game just to play Dead Money.
QUESTION; Can I mod my skill level or use someones save.
I bet I am not the only on in this boat.
I could really use a save from another player.
Any thoughts?

Thanks

Why not just play through? I'm sure there's plenty of things you haven't done.

Anyway, I take it you're on the PC.

Newvegasnexus.com has some save files.

Yes I am on a PC, took me forever to get thru it the first time. I am the kind of guy who hates doing any thing more than once.

Newvegasnexus.com has some save files.

uhh, dont see the point of just quoting that but anyway, there are cheats you can use to raise your level, skills, add items etc so you're back to your previous guys level if you want

It is warning you it's tougher that starting FNV. You can go ahead if you want. I went in at level 18 and it's really no problem if you can do unarmed or melee. I don't think I killed more than a couple of ghosts with a gun. In fact I hardly used guns or energy weapons at all. Punched every thing with the Bear Trap Fist. Get the stronger springs.

Level 20 isn't required, only recommended. If you think you can take it on at level 2, go for it.

Indeed. I went in at L16 for my initial run and was fine, although I was often skirting the ragged edge of survival as I play in hardcoe mode and take damage just for being there which drained a decent percentage of my healing items. I also went in with low combat skills, which I do not recommend unless you really want the added challenge.
