Got an Elder Scrolls tattoo!

Post » Mon Jul 11, 2011 10:18 pm

Well i'm getting really pumped for skyrim. As a tribute I got the symbol for Akatosh tattooed on my forearm! I had him play around with the design a little bit to make it look more worn and different shading. Let me know what you guys think, Artist was a gamer so i got it for free

You, sir, are epic!!! The design is lovley, and it's neat how it sorta pops out at you. I've actually been planning to get either the symbol from the boxart of oblivion "ohm in daedric", or something actually written in daedric

wonder how your gonna explain that to girls? :S

It's a tasteful design of a dragon. Why would an explanation be needed? Of course if the girl is a TES fan, she might appreciate it for what it is. :)

Haha.

I'd make up something really cool. Whatever I came up with would be better than, "well, you see there's this video game I really like, so..."

What job?

If it is a nice job. Why aren't you wearing sleeves?

If it's a job where wearing no sleeves is okay. Why do they care?

I have a full body tatttoo that is pretty much permanent woad, no one ever sees it.

Truth, for the most part. There are one or two jobs I know of that absolutely mandate no visible tattoos--I'm interning with a translator at the UN next summer, and one of the things my interviewer made a point of telling me was that although UN translators are actually permitted to cuff the sleeves of their shirts while at work, I'll never be able to do that because of my forearm tattoos--but I don't know of any jobs that flat-out demand no body modification whatsoever.

I don't think I can have a visible tattoo at my job (teacher).

I actually have a tattoo of azuras star from Morrowind on my arm. I will upload the pictures soon!

Edit: Awesome tattoo OP. I understand some people probably wouldn't get it, but I do. :)

Tattoo: A permanent reminder of a temporary feeling.

this. I Dont judge the decision, and personally I think the tattoo looks pretty badass, i just Dont know if you'll feel the same way about it in twenty years. to each their own I suppose. your choice, your body. more power to you, bro.

Good choice for a TES tattoo. With it being a dragon it will always be in style.

The whole concept of jobs denying people for having tattoos is ridiculous , especially because I see REALLY fat/ugly/old/weird people working (Namely at places like walmart but you know).... they themself aren't denied jobs for being ugly as hell but then for instance an attractive person could be denied a job because they have tattoos? WTF?

Thats messed up

If it was not for the fact that I'd probably be forced to wear long sleeves every day of my life at a potential job/career in the future , then I would definately consider getting tattoo sleeves cause I love how they look

Ironicly , I'm tattoo free , and good looking and yet all of my attempts at getting jobs have been utter failure (I'm only 22 so we're talking about stupid jobs like stores/restaraunts) BUT you know , it still makes no sense. Then it pisses me off when I (and this happens alot) see a person appearing to be 300+ pounds and/or 60+ years old and/or just plain ugly as hell working cash registers and I'm like "Now HOW IN THE HELL did they pick someone like that over someone like me?"

Not really, what u may consider "ugly" hardly matters when you are getting a job, they just might have other/better skills that they employeer was looking for or they never got to ur resume/application.
It has nothing to do with what someone looks like most of the time, I mean you never see good places hireing the "dumb blond" do you and let her do an important job like cash register do you?

nice, I thought about making this symbol more realistic and having flames come from its mouth in an arcing pattern
and there would be a viking with a shield blocking it and behind him a knight with a spear.
that would be my dragon/ tribute tat. but it would be on my side/ rib cage

Yeah , alot of my job searching has been in small bursts throughout the years but mostly when I was like 16 ish , and 19ish honestly after trying really hard at like age 19 and getting nothing but 1 failed interview and have more or less since given up for several years. Between the past failures to get even the crappiest of jobs despite a great deal of effort , and hearing all the time how the US economy is in a toilet I have been very (understandably) discouraged from trying to get jobs.

You say be honest and be yourself , good idea I had been thinking myself cause alot of the times when I tried in the past I was trying to be who I THOUGHT they wanted to see and telling them what I THOUGHT they wanted to hear.... which apparently did no good and I got nothing to lose by being real with the people in future attempts

What my brother always tells me when I go on a rant about it is that those people are basically losers (He doesn't actually call them losers , I'm putting this in my own words) who have no aspirations of anything greater and are there because yes they were hired before me and they have just been there for years and years and dead-end jobs like walmart and wendys LIKE having those kind of losers who won't leave them to look for more new hirings

dude, you are [censored] up, sorry bro, but saying [censored] like that is! I for one am not a loser because of the way i look (not saying i am fat) but what you said is discrimination, its like how most jobs won't hire me because of the scar on my throat that they can see, well if they do hire me I won't be covering it up since i had it since child birth and discrimination is illegal, grow up buddie, maybe THAN you will get a job.

Oh yeah , about girls and the tattoo.... if you explained it for real and they aren't down with Elder Scrolls they aren't marriage material anyway! lol

-_- wow are you like, 5?

Got it for free buddy of mine is a professional tattoo artist, he said no way he could charge for TES tattoo

I want one! PLEASEEEEEEE?:) Marry me?:)

No the messed up thing is that you have this superficial outlook on life.

so, moral of the story is... all dead end jobs start with the letter W?

...who gives a damn?

seriously, anyone who worries about that kind of stuff all the time doesnt stand much of a chance at life, only suffering in the end.

find a person who actually gives half a care about yourself as a person, rather than judging you on stupid nothings.

go through life as yourself, not as whats in your pants.
