1.2 got me laughing

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 2:01 am

Literally just last night I made myself a set of full Dragonplate and a set of full Ancient Nordic armour, both of which have 40% magic resist (to go with my 25% resist from the Lord Stone and 50% Nord Frost resist)... good timing! :D

I'm sure it'll get fixed soon, but for the first time ever I'm glad I came to work instead of playing Skyrim! Has anyone found this problem on the PC version?

Still haven't fixed the biggest issue of quest bugs.
I can't progress in either the main story or the war story

Yikes. And considering the way Bethesda works, we'll be left like this for 3-4 weeks.

woohoo! Win for the Not-Jumping-On-The-Update-Bandwagon!
I tend to wait for patches to be out a week or so before downloading just for this type of thing.

If there's really such big bugs in the new patch, I bet it's a matter of time before Bethesda goes on E-bay: 'WTB regression tests'.

Seriously, bad bad Bethesda (IF true). If a patch takes money and time to release on Xbox, at least make sure it's properly tested for regression.

Btw, this is coming from someone who hasn't complained at all about existing bugs or w/e. I love Skyrim. But this... omg

Even with no resistances, dragons never did much damage to me with their breath attacks.

Can't wait for the patch to push out for PCs so NOTHING CAN CHANGE FOR ME.

You know you've screwed up when people are disabling an auto update feature just to avoid a patch! :goodjob:

Didnt I just see like a dozen 'buff dragon' threads like a week ago?

Kidding, I've never bothered with resists gear, but I can see why people might get annoyed by this :D

Does this affect all NCP resistences or just the PC? Because this could make destruction magic much more appealing.

its not just the "buff" gear affected, its everything, all the resist disease, all the resist poison, all the racial resist affects like nords having resist frost and dunmer resist fire. that is all gone, well at least its been all made to 0% for the time being. This also means that the fire sword you use to [censored] frost trolls with, no longer raqes them as they no longer have weakness to fire, nor does it mean they are resistant to frost, which means fire and frost spells do the same damage to a frost troll. this then = [censored] stupid

Jeepers, how can I deactivate downloads on Steam? I don't want this buggy patch?

edit: Found it. You can select it via properties for each game. :)

Turn off automatic updates.

library>esv>right click>properties>updates>turn off

Don't count on that working. Steam has a tenancy to re-enable it.

If you have a copy of the release day exe try this.

The better option is to make a copy of the TESV.exe, rename the current exe to something else. (I use TESV4GB.exe) Then drop the copied TESV.exe back in the directory. Now simply make a new shortcut pointing to TESV4GB.exe. Steam can update the TESV.exe all it likes, just don't use it. It's best to make a backup of every exe after it's patched in case you ever need to go back.

I've turned off auto updates in Steam and have made a backup copy of my current TESV.exe file. I think I'll wait a bit before updating my game, which has had very few issues anyway.

Resist Poison and Resist Disease are apparently gone, too.
Meaning you can be a werewolf and a vampire now. A VampWulf.
