Don't forget that at least some dragons are also flying backwards after this patch. Someone put up video proof on YouTube about it. It's pretty obvious no one at Bethesda thought to actually playtest the patch before sending it live. In any case, this should be fixed in a day or two, unless they are utterly incompetent.

lol @ the "I rarely use negations" and "i never use negations" comments. What a bunch of apologists :D

I second this. Some people DO use resistance gear, and some races have as their special ability Magic Resistance. If this patch eliminates magic resistance and fire/frost/shock resist then Bethjesda needs to get their behinds back to work, NOT release the patch for Xbox 360 and get back tot he drawing board and all of you saying "I don't use magic resist" need to consider how you would feel if the patch came out and took away 3/4 of your hard earned hit points, or halved your one handed damage or two handed damage, or changed your character's race or whatever. Just because it doesn't effect YOU doesn't mean it isn't a debilitating bug for someone else. You selfish selfish people.

...And offline mode Steam goes!

Please Bethesda, stop trying to fix things. You're only making things worse.

Resist Poison and Resist Disease are apparently gone, too.
Meaning you can be a werewolf and a vampire now. A VampWulf.

Sounds like a movie I once saw. ;D

Lastest rumor is that the new patch negated Magic Ress making spells(including Dragon Breath) do massive damage to the player.
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

But on the flipside, why should it bother you so much that it doesn't bother them? As at least some of them didn't appear to be attacking anything/anybody with their statement, they were just stating that they didn't use that sort of stuff and giving their input on this situation.

Turn off automatic updates.

library>esv>right click>properties>updates>turn off

Thank you. Done. I meant to do this the other day and forgot.

And I use some Magic Resistance. I have a mask with it and I just took the first MR Perk for Alteration with plans to take the rest. The magic foes I'm running into lately are very tough...even tougher with the patch now, right? Yikes.

Dragon Shouts always bypassed resistances.

It doesn't bother me that much. It just makes them selfish. We need player solidarity to protect us (players) as a consumer group. I don't play a two hander but if the patch came out and broke two handed weapons I wouldn't be saying, "Well I don't use two handed anyway so ladida .."

Definitely a bummer when a patch breaks something. And this is a rather large something. How do you miss something like this in QA? It is pretty easy to find when playing the game.

The sentence from the OP he/she is quoting was practically gibberish, and they are making a satire of it by crossing the line into pure gibberish. People without a sense of humor need to learn to sit and keep their exasperation to themselves, because you failz!!!!!

Eh, the power-gamers will still be one-shotting dragons with their level 60 characters wielding broken weapons. People playing through the game organically are in for a rude awakening, though, but dragons have always been a major challenge. Without resists my level 20 warrior will last about 2 seconds in a breath attack.

All I thought they should've done to make dragons stronger/tougher (which I highly agree they needed to be stronger, mammoths can kill a dragon 1 on 1) is exactley that... Give them more health and make their attacks stronger...

Have you considered that since the OP has decided to make fun of a potentially game-breaking issue, people are simply pointing out that this is not the case? As far as I can see, the only power-gamers (the type of gamers that I assume would find dragons "easy") that are really screwed are destruction magi since their resistance poisons will no longer work. Smithing and enchanting still allows players to one-shot dragons and assassin-types never needed worry about getting hit in the first place.

To rephrase, the problem isn't that players negate a lot of damage(as it was in Oblivion, where you could become immune to everything but arrows and traps) with resistances, it's that it's too easy to do too much damage (current theorycrafting puts the maximum at over 16k, which I believe close to five times the health of an elder dragon). Therefore, for the players that the OP addresses, this bug will not be as disastrous predicted.

For the record, I do agree that this is an issue that needs to be addressed immediately. I'm glad it doesn't bother you, but still, examine the arguments before you label people as selfish. I don't recall anyone mentioning or even implying that this is a trivial issue that doesn't need to be fixed.

I can see this as a big problem against mages. Those guys are powerful to begin with. But it doesnt change anything against Dragons. Its just so easy not to get hit by their shouts. They follow the same pattern over and over again and never hit you if you hide behind something.

It's a big problem full stop. Removing resistances is going to fundamentally change game play and render many things useless. It won't matter what your build is or how you play ... the game just moved the goal posts off of the pitch and into another stadium.

Anyone checked magic absorbtion, like the atronach stone, or the master perk in alteration?

I have both, 80% absorb and it is still working~ If it fails and i hit the 30% then i get fried unless i quickly use Become Ethereal or duck behind something~

If anything this has made things more interesting~ :shifty:

Hope they look into it though, especially the part with dragons not aggroing... Dragonrend doesnt seem to be working very well either.
