01. As you have GOTY, the game should already be patched. Just check lower-left corner onf main menu, if it says 1.6.1820 then it up to date. You should be interested in unofficial patches: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1114812-repairing-the-cogs-of-morrowind-21/ and http://www.gamesas.com/?showtopic=1041190. MCP adresses hard-coded engine bugs, while MPP fixes quests, dialogues etc.

02. I'd say install them now. They include some fixes, namely new, better journal system. Also, many mods need both expansions as they offer more scripting possibilities.

03. The game has Main Quest, numerous Factions with onw questlines, and many Side Quests.

04. Construction Set is a tool that is used for making user made content, called "mods" or "plugins".

05. It's a matter of personal preferences. One will like Morrowind more, another will like Oblivion.

06. -

07. You do not need a mod for that. Just hold Shift while clickong on a spell and you will be prompted to confirm.

08. I didn't notice any invisible walls, beside invisible "roofs" in Tribunal.

06. I meant that the Calender in Morrowind might not be English so to speak, for Example: September 16 - 2010 - Thursday - What does it Show In-Game.

This is what it says in the txt.

The Elder Scrolls III
MORROWIND
v1.2.0722

The Elder Scrolls III
BLOODMOON
v1.6.1820

The Elder Scrolls III
TRIBUNAL
v.1.4.1313

Must Install These.

06. Yes, month names are non-english, but I don't know of a mod that renames them.

Install games in this order Morrowind >> Tribunal >> Bloodmoon and your game will be ready to play&mod.

If you want higher resolution, download http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1113265-morrowind-graphics-extender-mge/. It has a bunch of features and can make the game look really pretty. MGE has also built-in MWSE - Morrowind Script Extender.

If you don't want to use MGE you can use the http://morrowind4kids.com/pseronwyrd/MRC.exe to get any resolution you want.

If you read what NPCs say when they give you a quest and read the journal entries that are added when you're doing a quest the directions are usually clear enough. Is there anything in particular you're having problems with?

The journal entries act like Mapquest directions. If you're lost, it was your fault.

Before I ever touched PC-Morrowind, I played it and both expansions on the Xbox. Beat it all, and did most of the quests.
It's possible. The journal tells you everything.

Morrowind is not lame nor pathetic, it just requires a bit of IMAGINATION (as povuhlo mentoined) and the mythical READING skill.

Sorry you didn't like Morrowind, different games for different people. As you are done there is no point in continuing this topic.

Quick close so I can go play Morrowind - awsome game. :)
