No, no prone, but you can slide.
This will prevent dropshotting to a certain extent, and is usefull in combination with SMART. It also opens up the ability to slide tackle someone while at the same time removing the prone camping.

How will the victim of the knock down react tho, do we know? Wouldn't it knock them into a prone position in which you'd have to stand up or will it be like gears of war 2 where your character would stand up after coming to a hualt.

You get knocked on your back, you can't move. You can still shoot or get up. You might want to shoot first and get up later depending on the situation.

Sweet I didnt know you could Tackle from a slide. Good point one the camping, Is there any length that you can hold it post-slide to remain hidden under low lying debris?

I'm pretty sure the length of your slide depends on your body type. The lighter you are the farther you'll slide. But no, you can't hold it, last time I checked.

Ok so how about a wall run..? Is there just wall hop cause from the dawn of smart video the avatar does a wall run during the clip of the simplified environment. It def looks like more than one step but its the only time I see it used.

It really makes all the different between light and medium.

Indeed. In a game like brink, I imagine that the reduced health is negligible compared to the greater freedom of movement.

Light all the way!

Remember that with an entire team of Lights you are sacrificing survivability for mobility. Also note that some objectives require you to remain stationary for a certain amount of time or to protect an objective that moves slowly. In these cases your speed will not help you very much. I guess you could run in a circle or something just to stay mobile but then you would show up on the enemy's radar. Also note that no objective requires you to use Parkour to get to so although you have multiple paths to use they all lead somewhere that any body type can access. So far Brink seems extremely well balanced.

I would never use an entire team of lights.

My point was that always playing a Light may not be in the best interest of your team in certain situations. As the previous poster stated 'Light all the way!' I was just pointing out the negative side to this statement.

For the record, using an entire team of Lights is plausible but the handicap would require a very high level of player skill to offset.

True but on the same coin heavies may not always been the answer, All the classes and body types play to certain styles. All will have use and that is why Brink will be so amazing.

Only light bodytypes can wallhop.

Is this confirmed? If so, link it.

I thought Heavies and mediums could do things like wall-hops and slides, just to a smaller degree than Lights.

I also think I remember reading this but who can trust these interviews?

Anyway it kind makes sense that any class can mantle or slide and lights can do it better. The idea of a heavy doing a wall hop is a tad ridiculous.

Man a wall run would have been nice. O well I would rather the wall hop if I had to choose cause its much more dynamic in the sense that you dont need an open patch of vert wall all you need is an object that has a slope greater than like 45 or so. Pipes, corners, adjacent ledges, wall run wouldn't work there. But it would have been good for the fluidity of it all.

Ok so what about tucking your feet to clear an object? its important for momentum to not contact a hand rail to make some gaps. Mirrors edge was awesome for that reason.

This information was in one of the latest interviews. Would be quite hard to go through all of them again to find the one which states it.
