I got a strat guide....

Post » Wed Sep 29, 2010 9:45 am

We have the two sniper rifles, the Drognav and the Barnett, the Drog is semi with a power of 80, and the Barnett is single shot, with the hefty power of 125 (Just enough to kill a unbuffed light body type)
And there are three types of Engineer turrets, light, medium, and Gatling, each one with a faster firing speed then the last.

EDIT: light rifles.
here you go :turtle: name him schnapps and love him

Ah yes, my turtle, joy......I find it odd that people give away turtles to new people around here, but I shall not question it!

Mhmm! The damage seems good and reasonable. Also, for the turrets, do they only get a faster rate or do they get a little more damage as well. I'm hoping for the latter but the former is just as good.

Is Wall Running possible, or is it just Wall Hopping.

We've seen people do short wallruns.

Most recent is linked in the "new video from someone who's actually good" thread.

The one thing that I am the most curiuos about would be the different ammo types that us soldiers can pass out.

Anything on the incendiary ammo? Armor piercing ammo has been listed in the past, but does your guide have anything on the different ammo types? Damage comparisons, stats or anything of the like?

I don't think there is incendiary. I was watching a leaked ability video, and the only ammo abilities that I saw were armor piercing and increased ammo capacity

I was hoping for a different answer but thanks for confirming my suspicions.

Looking on the bright side, at least I can pass out armor piercing ammo to everyone

And the armor piercing ammo seems to be to nullify the kevlar abilities of soldiers and engineers, not to do extra damage.

Some nice info drops for sure. Out of curiosity is everyone able to get their hands on a copy of the strat guide as of today or do you know a guy, who knows a guy, who robbed some guy?

Last I heard people were still able to obtain(legally) a Brink guide before release. I could be wrong but I don't see what's the big deal in allowing people to get a better understanding of the game prematurely so I'm pretty sure he got it legally.

Just gonna shamelessly plug this thread here, as many seem interested in weapon damage:

Thanks, I hadn't seen that. Nice to see someone made use of that information in a way that is actually readable. :)

My only suggestion would be to move the Revolvers category up to right under Pistols, for easier comparison, since they use the same slot.

I know I wish they had more abilities for buffing the Eng turrets. This could make Eng more unqiue and be very important to have Eng specialized in certain things.

For example Eng #1 could be built simply as support with all the buffs while Eng #2 is built with capturing/holding objectives with Mines, Turret and Upgrades like (faster response time, larger attack radius, self-destruct, Anti-Hack) These are suggestions I made in a thread awhile back.

The self-destruct ability incase you were wondering was an ability I thought up where when it gets low on health it self destructs sending shrapnel out damaging all those around. The Anti-Hack was another ability I thought up which I thought would be cool for Eng to be able to purchase which when an enemy Operative tried to hack the turret the turrets self-defense system would kick in and begin electrocuting the Operative. It would not kill them or prevent them from hacking it would merely do a reasonable amount of dmg leaving them weak and exposed for the Eng or his teammates around to pick them off.

Anyways back to the point it would be nice to see things like this as players could be more specialized and it would add a more unique dynamic to Brink as there would be several ways for an Eng to be effective and help the team.

Engineers can hand out Kevlar, and it gives you 10% damage resistance. Soldiers also have a (presumably passive) version that only works on themselves.
