It seems to me that closed helmets are back, in the screenshot with the ice wraiths it looks like the elven helmet is a closed one... can anyone confirm this?

There isn't anything to confirm that there is level scaling. It all connects back to the section of the article that mentions that random quests will be tailored to the strengths and weaknesses of your character. I've seen far too many people say "well, level scaling is in exactly like it was in Oblivion."

No no no no no!

The ONLY confirmation we have is that RANDOM QUESTS are scaled to one's level. This makes sense because it wouldn't be fun to get a random quest and not be able to complete it. That's the whole reason random quests exist: to provide something to do for the current player.

I wonder if it will be super confuzing or not
Two things I am worried about is this:

One: Is that lets say I am level 2 and go into a area were I would have to be level 5 to do a quest, will it let me know that I HAVE to be level 5 in some way or form thru text or someway? Or will it just not have a quest appear?
Two: if it is that latter I am worried about it the most because I have short term memory loss (only seems to get worse to :( and I am only 20!! T___T ) and I am afraid that I won't remember to go to "that cave near that first town" or something like that :(

Also did the mag have screens of any landscapes in the game? How do they look? Do they just show snowy areas or other areas?

True, and on page 50, there is a guy wearing what looks like the same armor/chest clothing as on page 52. Except with a shirt under, and 1 shoulder pad. But im not sure.

I notcied the vest thing too... O.O NOW I am actually really hoped... if they put shoulder and clothing slots back I will be enternally happy :D

Are you talking about the Dunmer? Good eye. It does look like he is only wearing one pauldron.

What I like:
Spoiler
-A variation of level scaling.
-Dynamic Shadows
-Overhauled Combat-system
-Improved Faces/Improved Models Example: Faces have been dramatically overhauled. Characters now exhibit more emotion show of distinctions between different races and just plain looks better.
-Radiant AI
-Updated Engine Snow falls dynamically (not as a basic texture on the ground)
Trees and branches move independently with the wind
Water flows
-Randomly generated quests.
-Beards
-You can't run backwards as fast as you do forward.
-10 races to choose from
-confirmed creatures: zombies, skeletons, trolls, giants, ice wraiths, giant spiders, dragons, wolves, horses Elk, mammoth, saber-toothed cats
-presumeably open cities (as dragons can attack)
-Hud-free first-person view and improved third-person perspective
-very unique landscapes! Also unique dungeons! In other words, lots of uniqueness!
-Character creation improved, body features customizable

What I'm on the fence about:
Spoiler
-2-handed weapons and duel wielding confirmed.
-Finishing moves, unique to each weapon and enemy you fight.
-Kids
-The game takes place 2 centuries after Oblivion
-Sprint is added !
- Dialog will pop up when you approach an enemy
- cooking/farming/mining/woodcutting/blacksmithing

What I dislike:
Spoiler
-18 skills.
-Perk picking at every level-up
-5 Magic Schools Destruction Alteration Conjuration Restoration Illusion. (Alchemy Enchant (now added) are not magic schools (?) )

Unfortunately, what I dislike has a much heavier impact on what I think of the game than what I like. I mean, why do they feel they have to cut even more skills out of the game (what was wrong with Mysticism or Alchemy?). Or introduce what I'm sure are going to be either horribly useless or horribly OP'd perks per level (like Fallout 3).

Overall, I'm sort of disappointed for right now, but who knows? Maybe some footage from E3 will change my mind and make me absolutely want this game.

I'm not sure why people are unhappy with the only 18 skills. I think people are just looking for something to be outraged about. They did it with Daggerfall to Morrowind and Oblivion to Skyrim. It's time to get ready for people saying how Oblivion is such an amazing game and Skyrim is terrible in 10 months. They removed some of the more worthless skills like athletics. It's better off that way especially when there are no more Major or Minor skills (I actually am even more optimistic about this game knowing this). As for the perks, I would have put it under on the fence since you don't know what they all are atm but I'm kind've skeptical about them too. I really don't see what the problem is with only having 5 schools of magic. 5 is a nice round number and mysticism always felt like a wasted school to me, I always thought that some of the things in Mysticism belonged in other schools like the reflect spells and telekinesis should belong in Alteration and dispel and detect life belonged in Illusion, pretty obvious things because why would reflect be in mysticism while all the shields were in Alteration?

In the tavern it looks like the guy in the background is a little more heavy than the PC, also the guy walking through the streets with the leopard/puma... I think they all have realistically sized bodies and different ones!!! So maybe, body size is adjustable...

Where is there mention of spiders? I've read the article and seen the pics...

One of the screenies is the character facing a giant spider.

Sounds like it much more simplified than Oblivion was.

I want more SKILLS. T_T

And the old level and skill system. T_T

So because it has less skills the entire game is bound to be simple and uninspired? Riiiiight.

+1 interbwebz I completely agree!

It's kind of sad that the only Mysticism skill I used was detect life and Alchemy could produce so many skills similar to magic classes it made a lot of those skills worthless at higher levels.

The only pic is from behind, but the skin seems to be Morrowind grey and not Oblivion blue, so in my opinion that's a plus.

"Dragon shouts expand your abilities in many directions. One sends foes hurting away from you, staggered by the force of your yell.
Another slows down time around you."

It also mentions a "blink" dragon shout/whisper. "..to aid in a stealthy approach, like the one that send you instantaneously from one
place to another."

"One particularly potent shout speaks the true name of an actual dragon, and the beast is forced to come to your aid and fight beside you in battle."

Your not supposed to transcribe it word for word, but I think the Mods let it slip.

I hope it won't be overused, not even once every 24 hours, and if it will be like that, it should have extreme disadvantages, like slowing down time would cause you to be ... and sending you from one place to another would make you poisoned etc. etc.
I don't want to be overpowered and feel invincible, we got god mode for that :P

I don't know...it seemed to work that way with the last TES. Is it so surprising that some take a reduction of skills as a bad sign for the rest of the game? Doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Canary in the coal mine so to speak. You have to remember...a lot of people wanted a system at least as complex as Daggerfalls, so to hear that we've actually lost skills from Oblivion (I didn't think it was possible myself) is a bummer. Again, the article doesn't go into enough detail about anything but combat to make a judgment.

There's a pic (of Riverwood village, page 52) where it looks like a guard is walking with a dog beside him.

I believe these may be only usable when in combat with a dragon. That's what they made it seem like in the article since the dragons are so powerful and your lineage are the only ones capable of defeating dragons one on one.
