GOTY edition ?.

I'm planning to get the Fallout 3 Game of Year Edition on PC soon. Do the DLCs come with the disk (meaning no Windows Live needed whatsoever), or is there something I'm missing? Also, has anyone noticed any gameplay differences in the GOTY edition (even if minor)?

Yeh, i'm nearly at the end of the game, with as many side quests in as i have found, but i haven't discovered any of this "extra content" either. I've read that there are radio transmissions or something, but i've not found any.

The GOTY edition comes with the DLCs on a disc. Other than that.. there are no differences. At all.

Have you activated the DLCs? You have to do it from the main menu.

Scratch that. I fumbled. There are added enemies such as Mutant Overlords and Albino rad scorps and such. Other than that...

Did you install the DLCs? Are they activated in the Launcher/FOMM? Do you have the 1.7 patch? Yep their introduced viva radio transmissions and if you have mutant overlords isnt that Broken Steel?

Depending on which DLC you have, when you first play the game after installing it you will get a popup, such as "Broken Steel has been installed. Your level cap has been rasied to 30" .

So let me get this straight... I buy the GOTY version of Fallout Three, and it comes with the DLC content, but I have to enable it in some part of the main menu? Is that correct? Don't be afraid to hurt my feelings to correct me, I'm not a "gamer", but I love Fallout 3!

Yes, you must activate the DLC you wish to play - or all of them. When you start the game from the start menu, the first thing that comes up is a window with some options. Select Data Files and from the following list click those DLCs you wish to play - then OK - then Play. Windows will pop up after the game loads telling you how to start each of the DLCs. If you use FOMM (Fallout Mod Manager) then do the same thing in it from the start menu rather than the Data Files route.
