GOTY installation problems

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 8:48 pm

Premise: WIndows XP SP2, from GOTY installed with this order Morrowind -> Tribunal -> Bloodmoon. No patches applied. It says I'm running the 1.5.1629 version, shouldn't it be already 1.6.1820?

Lauching the CS and selecting all three files .esm, I got lots of errors:
"Previous string is different for topic...".

If I try to apply the 1.6.1820 European patch, I got:
"Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since
and those problems remains.

Strange thing is, I already used this GOTY disk set in the past without a problem. What about the version/patches? Any suggestions?

For reference, that's the versions I got after installing from the disks only:
Morrowind 1.2.0722
Tribunal 1.3.1029
Bloodmoon 1.5.1629

Which patch are you trying to apply? The final Bloodmoon one should be what you need. Make sure it's for the same version of the game you're using. (there's an American one, European one, and I think some in different languages)

That's normal and harmless, and you can skip past all of those.
The expansions introduce changes to some dialog.

You're correct about the version for Bloodmoon, but I've never heard about the problems that you have with that installation process which is correct. I suggest that you try the patch for Tribunal before you continue with Bloodmoon found here.

I mentioned it, I'm tryin to apply the Bloodmoon European Patch v1.6.1820

About the errors in the CS, how come that I didn't got them before on a fresh install with those same disks? It's really strange if you ask me :o

Unfortunately I already tried it, i.e. installing with this order:

Morrowind
Tribunal
Tribunal Patch v1.4.1313
Bloodmoon
Bloodmoon European Patch v1.6.1820

Got the same results.
