GOTY or not

Recently I just purchased the GOTY edition or PS3 and now after seeing all this fuss about the vampire glitch I'm wondering if I should return it since it's used and get the regular disk. First off I have no desire at this time to play any dlc. Is that the only benefit of having GOTY. I want to play through the story without any problems before Skyrim comes out. I do not want to deal with the vampire glitch. If I want I can get the GOTY later. Is the glitch that big of a deal? I just want the option of not being a vampire. Like I said my hands will be full with oblivion until Skyrim hits shelves so I do not need any extras. Also if there is a chance my game will run smoother on one then the other I'd like to know. Thank so much guys. In heading toward the local game store now. I cannot wait to play this game. I just want to play with no major problems.

Spoiler
As far as I know the vampire glitch prevents you from being cured of vampirism. So once you're a vampire, you're a vampire forever. But, after being bitten by a vampire, you have three days to cure the disease that will turn you into a vampire. This still works. So, you do have the option of not becoming a vampire as long as you get cured before your 3 days of incubation period have passed.

It actually doesn't matter if you have the GOTY or not. You can still become a vampire with the regular game. If you don't want to become a vampire just keep an eye on your spell effects tab, and look at it everytime you exit a dungeon/cave/whatever. If you see effects caused by Porphyric Hemophilia there, drink a cure disease potion or get to a chapel altar immediately and you won't become a vampire.
