Gourds have been confirmed as an ingredient in the game's alchemy and cooking systems.

Now can anyone can tell me what is Gourd.

Praise be Akatosh! :vaultboy:

(Gourds are plants made hollow to keep water inside for convieniance... no idea as to their medicinal properties though.)

It's pandering to the mainstream again. For crying out loud, just because COD idiots need gourds, doesn't mean we need them. Proper RPG mechanics make you carry water in heavy earthen jugs.

Yes!

When they brought watermelons in during Oblivion, I was a bit uncertain as to how I felt... mostly because there was a noticeable lack of pumpkins and what-have-you to help fill out the 'bulbous plantlife' category. Now that we have gourds, this should open the flood gates.

With any luck, gamesas will announce further melons and vegetables in the near future!

*sigh* we've been asking for gourds since the very beginning, and now that they're confirmed, some negative Nancy just HAS to say something about it. I for one am glad bethesda finally decided to listen to the true fans.

OMFG Bethesda!
Are you just trying to destroy my game!
How can you RP a character that was raised without gourds in a suddenly gourd filled world?!
How can you make Skyrim into an FPS by inculding GOURDS!?
Is why dragons have returned? For Gourd filled worlds?!
I will have to cancel my pre order now! Filled with GOURDS!

It might be because I'm totally drunk right now, but I thought this was a serious topic.

EDIT: The other sarcastic (sober) comments are making me laugh so hard.

I agree with colonel tannanbaum. This will lead the way into innovation with the TES series. I mean we can only hope that pumpkins are introduced in TES 6.
