GOW ARMOUR

Post » Wed Dec 30, 2009 2:57 pm

Hi guys,
I've looked on Youtube and found proof of Gears of War armour. I know it's possible but I was just wondering if anyone can send me a link to it.
And I've also heard of an Armour/ MOD that your not allowed to talk about on the Forums. Just wondering what it is.

You can not take an asset from another game and put it in another game without having permission. So they most likely did not get permission, and it would be a bad idea to download it.

Oh, just it looks sooo good, What if I made it myself, would it still be a bad idea?

If you did it from the ground up I think you would be fine.

dont be such a pansy.

theres alsorts of cool mods out there from gow to bf2142.

if you dont like the idea of useing assets from another game "for personal use and not profit" then thats fine but dont discourage anyone else.

me, im modding and have sofar done over 1000+ items from various diffrent games and intend to release it to everyone to make there f3 more enjoyable. theres furniture, wepons, armour, cars, buildings, foods, ect ect.

all credit gos to said companys along with links to there websites. what bttr advertisment than someone saying ooo i like this, ill geck that game out.

theres already 5 ppl went and bought bf2142 because they seen the mod.

Where is the skill in that? Boring!
Whose the pansy?

for starters it is Beths expessed condition to refrain from doing exactly that. port assets from other games into theirs, even their own games. Plus you are not being smart blowing your own hrn right on their forums.

Also I believe this attitude will ultimately be our downfall. Screw the company? more likely you are screwing yourself and us too.

Where the hell did F3 draw this breed of "modder"

Where is the old school repect?

Laziness...I would feel much more confident in my ability as a modder personally if I could recreate armor/weapons from other games without using any assets. I guess some people are too lazy to do it

lack of skill more like.

I was thinking more along the lines, that this never happened to this degree in Ob or MW modding. The shear amount of custom made assets for those games vs. the proportion of ones that were converted by rippers.

They did so illegally. Doing for personal use or distribution is illegal period However, theres not much that can be done if you do it on your computer and do not distribute. But if you do such a thing, then we here at BSF don't want to hear about it. It is actually against the rules to talk about it.

You guys, Bethesda does not allow you to use assets from other games and make them modification for their games. It is illegal, and cannot be discussed on this forum.

This is a disgusting attitude to have. While porting a weapon from another game to F3 doesn't take as much skill as making one from scratch, it still takes a measure of skill. While I can't say for sure whether or not you're in a position to be making claims about other peoples skills, I can say that you (and many other people with this argument) are being rather pigheaded about it.
Spoiler
Personally, I always find myself wondering why some people seem to usually talk about how porting weapons takes no skill first, and then talk about how it's banned.

Respect is a very abstract concept. I don't see where you're coming from with this.

respect matters, you just plain dont say 'screw these rules' when your right on the very forums of it, and are playing the game.
and yes, ripping weapons takes a bit of skill, but in pirating and low morals.
and i too am wondering how these poeple have survived as long as they have.

but to be honest i did try to put deadric armor from my oblivion game which i bought, for personal use.
i dont consider it to be bad if you just do that, if you own both games and dont release it.

Seriously, all you have to do is not talk about illegal crap on this forum. How hard is that? It's not hard to challenge morality when you don't do so verbally. Keep it to yourself and off the forum and you won't hear ___________ whining at you. Fill in the blank at your own discretion.

To demonstrate how hardline a stance against ripping that the moderators are instructed to have, watch this topic intently. Specifically, your ability to reply in it.

The only game that bethesda has allowed to have weapons ported from is stalker. Which allows mesh porting to other games. The rules against porting are in place not only to cover your own ass but to cover theirs as well in the event that a game company or publisher take offense and sue. This thread has been reported.
