20% of GPU's are DX11 as per Feb Steam Survey (see proof)

All those who think it's five percent you are looking at figures from May 2009-May 2010

This Here WHICH IS OUT OF DATE I guess must be what made you think that.

All this shows is DX11 adoption is very rapid and in Feb was already 20% projecting these figues to now gives you about 25% so we are looking at about 25% of the overall being DX11 and probably more like 35-45% of people who own or plan to buy Crysis 2.

Get over the freaking DX11 it won't make the game any different!? Real DX11 implementation with full scale tesselation won't happen in some time, and especially with console gaming being so dominant.

It already has happened. Image

Proof this is in game is in game is clear: Because in this clip we see a cut scene which looks much better than this (CGI Quality) and in which the creature is a completely different color followed by the actual boss fight where the creature looks like this picture.

What didn't fit on the page is
in the clip we see both a cut
scene which is clearly not this
footage and higher quality
CG Quality in fact. Then we see
the boss fight.

Note for some reason the creature
is a completely different color
in the cut scene.

What about DX10!? according to that Steam survey 70% have at least a DX10 GPU which means 90% of people still aren't getting the most out of their card in Crysis 2. Even Crysis 1 had DX10 for christ sake, and that was over 3 years ago! No matter how you slice it, the fact that the PC version of Crysis 2 is DX9 only is ridiculous.

Dude the **** engine supports full DX11. SO how the hell isn't it implemented? It's as simple as compiling the game with DX11 support because the engine fully supports it. I'm sure they have DX11 built into the game they just decided to remove it. The leak is proof of that. They had DX11 files. So it's not hard to release a patch.

Plus DX11 has an added bonus of giving DirectX10. Which is why at the moment this game is DX9 only because DX11 brings the DX10 API automatically.

You may not know enough about game design but I know enough to get me by. I know for a fact Crysis 2 can easily support DX11. The engine has it. That was made apparent at GDC. It was also in the leak.

So if you don't want DX11 that's fine but a lot of us do so shove off.

@Makius that's because DX11 brings DX10 with it. Which is why we don't have DX10. When DX11 is released we will automatically get DX10.

Also could you guys please resize those images? I can't quote, and I can't edit my post because of those images.

I realise it may not make a huge difference to Crysis 2. I still wanna have DX11 in the game.

When you pay £XXX or $xxx for tech, you at least want to see it, regardless of how little support it actually has.

I can't think of a single game that properly utilises DX11 still, Call of Pripyat is up there as far as tech goes - DX10 is still more important - i.e. tessellation.

Maybe almost 20% have a DX11 graphicscard but if you check out the HWSurvey you could see that only 5,6% have DX11 card AND Win 7 (i think this includes Vista) .. so, only ~6% could benefit from DX11 in Crysis ;)
