Grabbing.

Do you guys think there is ANY chance that they return (in some kind of patch) the grab option from Oblivion? This auto-center absolutely svcks in Skyrim. Its very difficult to place items.

I actually find it much easier to place objects in Skyrim than it was in Oblivion. They still "flop" but not to the same degree that they did in Oblivion.

What I would really like to see is items that cast shadows, making determining depth when placing easier. I don't like how it looks like I am gonna place something in the middle of a table, only to have it fall on the edge and then teeter off onto the floor.

patches are for fixing bugs/system anomolies, not for minor inconviences that have no effect on gameplay so i dont think theres hope for placing items in an easier fashion. they did give us weapon racks and such in vanilla this time around though.

By the way... I'll have to swallow my pride here and just ask... Just how the #### do you grab anyways?

I've tried EVERYTHING.

Well on the 360 you hold down "A" over the object you wish to grab. So I guess its the "Action" button for the other systems? Once you've grabbed something, you don't have to hold it down. Just click it once more to release the object :)

You do not realize how much time I have spent trying to place a stupid cup on a table. It's really just a dreadful system they have where some items are close to impossible to place the way you(I) want them. I've treid to place on drum on the floor, but because it rotates upside down i gave up.

Telekenisis used to help make placing things up high easy but alas they trimmed away some fat from oblivion

I thought they had taken this out in the game... never realised you had to hold down A right? I need to go test this now

I placed an apple pie back on it's plate after it took a nasty fall just fine. It's putting buckets on people's heads that makes me rage...

I was actually really surprised by this. I thought this game was on the same engine as FONV, and you could pick things up by the area you had targeted in that game. If I wanted to spin a book around in NV I grabbed it by a corner and rotated it. Here it's a pain in the ass because you always grab things by center mass.

hmm that's odd because I heard many times that telekenisis was stripped along with some of the other magic/abilities

I can't speak for the accuracy of the UESP (despite it being amazing!!), but I think that was the entire school of Mysticism that they stripped away. But the spells from that school mainly just got placed in the other, remaining schools of magick.

It's still there. Hold "E" on pc to grab things. It was never mentioned and I only found out through the forums.

God I hope so, I don't like the the grab function in Skyrim. It's (hilariously) my biggest complaint with the game.
