Grain bug fix (for some people) (cry-tom you may wanna look)

Post » Wed Oct 12, 2011 6:07 am

I know how the grain bug can be very annoying, but I think I may have got rid of it... but as I have said in the title It will probably only work with some people. It's not some weird technical things like hacking and recoding, or anything like that. Just mess with your T.v settings Raise the back light significantly to a high point(9.4/10), slightly up the contrast 6.5/10, slightly decrease the brightness on your T.v 4.9/10. Mess with the in-game brightness and raise it a bit more than you should do(using the crysis brightness meter thing as a guide)

.Try messing around with all of these setting and i know the setting are different for everyone. And if you have any picture noise reduction (some times called DNR) try that because on my tv it has reduced the problem slightly. If that still hasn't done the trick, (it gets a little advanced)... still with your T.v Remote reduce the blue/turqoise colour value down significantly but raise every other colour slightly.

Have a go and please get back to me on your results, but I must repeat I know it wont work for everyone, on my T.v it has gone, and can only see it if you stand 20cm from the screen and focus with nanovision on. When setting up the T.v please have patience it can take a while to find the optimal setting... good luck

Sounds like a waste of time just trying to mask the problem. Thanks, but no thanks.

well it's really up to you if you do it or not, but It worked for me and I was trying to help others

Another thing to prevent it is reboot crysis everytime you finish a mission and then when you load it back up just carry on, you don't have to start the whole mission again,(and lose all your equipment)

*sigh* you got my hopes up...

NO THIS IS NOT A FIX FOR THE GRAIN BUG!

I refuse to alter my TV settings for one game only to make my other games look like ****.

I wish Crytek would officially address this issue. I just finished Crysis 1 on xbox 360 and to my surprise it was amazing...more than I'd hoped. Please Crytek, fix the grain issue on Crysis 2 so I can enjoy that one aswell.

Not in my experience with the glitch. The only widely known workaround for this glitch is to dashboard and reboot the game and then load a fresh mission with mission replay. I tried the technique you describe above months ago when the game first came out. Once the glitch does show it stays with your save. At that point it won't go away without mission replay. Quitting after each stage and then resuming won't keep the glitch from happening. All that accomplishes is delaying the inevitable.

Face it dude. The only way this glitch can be fixed is for Crytek to patch the game. It's not a problem on our end, it's their end. Period.
