grain/noise effect is not a glitch/bug

Post » Thu Jan 06, 2011 7:28 pm

Haven't you people noticed that it only happens when you're around a lot of aliens? Like when the action gets really intense. I don't mind the effect at all but I can see why people get all butt-hurt, some people just dont like a noise effect and the game would look cleaner without it but some people really need to chill, sayin' stuff like "this game is unplayable".

Just because of a noise effect?! Are you kidding me?! I personally don't play this game for it's graphics, I play for the tight/responsive controls. For me... it's all about gameplay, graphics come last. So yeah, people need to relax. It's not a bug, it's part of the game's look.

Oh and has anyone else noticed that your shadow disappears now when you go cloaked? Wasn't like that when I first got the game. Nothin' major but I like it. It kinda bugged me a little. Now if they would only fix the pistol silencer bug, it REALLY bothers me.

It appears in multiplayer too, only after I've played a few games though, From the bottom left of my screen to the top right it goes.

No, the glitch is when you SPRINT and the motion blur around the edges stay sometimes after you stop, or your HUD data is completely blurred and you can't see jack.

it IS a glitch

you can get rid of it with certain workarounds so obviously it's not suppose to be there

The moderator Cry-Adam has acknowledged this as a glitch/bug (saying as much in the "grain/parasite" thread), and has said that they are working on a ptach for it, and that when they know a date for release they will tell the forum.

Completely wrong. I've had it happen in hectic scenes only to replay the very same hectic scene and have it not happen at all.

"Tight/responsive controls"... This game barely runs at 25 fps at best! Most of the time, when the action picks up and having a consistent fps is ESSENTIAL, the game drops to between 15 and 20 fps.

Not exactly what Cevat Yerli claimed [on record!], is it?

This game is broken until fixed. If it isn't fixed post-haste, I'm trading it in for a game that's actually finished.

THAT is a glitch I've had a couple times but that's not what I'm talking about.

Listen, the thing is I've seen a video with a developer talking about the grain effect and that it happens when stuff gets crazy. So that means IT'S NOT A GLITCH. I can't believe people are this dumb. Now if it happens in multiplayer maybe it is a glitch (idk) but it's SUPPOSED to happen in single player.

Really though I should have known better. Usually I stay FAR, FAR away from forums and looking at comments for game videos because I will ALWAYS be disappointed with how dumb people are. I mean look at crimsonsmoke's response..... yeah. My fault though, I'm better than this. Bye bye now, I'll probably never post here again, it's pointless... and I was only trying to help out.

Man up guys, stop acting like a bunch of whining kids... unless of course most really are kids.

Yeah you should go ahead and do that. You won't be missed and you sound like such a b***h. Go play some Homefront. LOL

It is a glitch and it makes the game look like the same quality as a low quality blocky streamed video. There's huge rectangles all over the image.
