Graphic issues

Post » Sun Jun 19, 2011 12:37 am

OK i installed oblivion and i stated using mods but it got really cluttered.
everything was fine except when I got to Kavatch and closed the gate, help take Kavatch back (all fine),
then when i go into the church it crashes. then when i try to load my game up is say some file are missing. (help with this to if possible)

so i uninstalled and reinstalled it but now my Faces are black (my character and NPCs) and Female bodies are
gone (all i see are heads, hands, and feet), male bodies are fine with no issue

i reinstalled 2 times and still the same problem

(Edit: i have ZERO mods installed)

any other info needed just ask

Thanks in advanced for any and all help

If you have no mods installed then go into your Data Folder for Oblivion and delete any folders you find, except music, video, and shaders. The original game is all esm, Bsa, and esp files.

What bradleyh is saying is that when you uninstall, that process only removes the vanilla files originally installed- so any modified/corrupted files will still be present. Either do as he suggests, or go into where Oblivion is installed and delete the root folder, plus the folder in 'My Games'. You can preserve your save games by simply drag/drop the 'savegames' folder to your desktop.

ok here is the timeline

1. installed oblivion
2. played for 2 days and messed with mods (dragged them into the data folder "not obmm")
3. got kind of cluttered and some mods weren't meshing right so i tried to delete them but it was so cluttered and unorganized and the above Kavatch issue happened
4. decided to reinstall clean and start using obmm
5. uninstalled, deleted all folders and files then restarted my pc
6. installed and played with no mods
7. the issue happens with no mods and i "uninstall and reinstall" 2 times with the same issue

Oh and the first uninstall i didn't delete the "My Games" folder but the other 2 i did and no change (Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Oblivion was deleted all 3 times)

I should install outside of the program files folder (assuming you're using Vista or windows 7).

Also, see this, explains pretty much everything- http://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=240
