Graphical Error - ATI

Post » Mon Aug 30, 2010 11:55 am

Hey guys just wandered if anyone could help me out on the strange brightness/lighting(?) issue ive been experiencing.

Ive recently just installed the GOTY Deluxe edition from Steam only to find this upon entering the prison ...

It appears that the character models are unaltered however its clear that the walls and objects are way off! Ive tried reinstalling my ATI drivers from scratch, and also delete the .ini file but to no avail. I would much appreciate any advice, possible fixes or what the problem is. I'm limited to the info i can give regarding my rigs specifications until i'm home but ill provide what I can if needed.

Many thanks!

Windows 7-64bit os
ATI Radeon 5770
AMD Athlon x2 2.6
4GB Ram
This is all i can remember from the top of my head :)

Moderator please lock this as I found the solution. For anyone interested in case it happens to them, inputting the command "tlb" reverts the settings to normal. Apparently the command should be off by default which it wasnt.

Cheers

Its a problem with the ATI 57xx series. It is because the game thinks that its a Nvidia 5xxx series, which couldnt run the game unless tlb was enabled.

Oh i see seems strange. Im getting all kind of problems after having installed from Steam. Not only was this command on by default but the ground textures are all messed up and roads/beaches and such are all green. My disk version worked fine so im guessing its a dodgy install.
