I also have stopped playing the campaign because of how crappy that grain and those wavy lines make the backdrop look. I've also limited my online play due to constant connection issues and lag.

So this pretty much means I'm not really playing a brand new game I bought which svcks. It's hard for me to recommend this game to friends while these problems persist. How can I recommend a game I can't really enjoy playing at this time?

Crytek please fix these issues ASAP so I can get back to enjoying a game that has tremendous potential (as you well know).

Got the game a few days ago and I also got this glitch.

I first noticed it on the first rain level. Thought maybe my TV was going bye bye or something, or if it was suppose to be like that...but then that developer would be seriously f.... up, if that was the case

Now I know that grain isn't suppose to be there, and now I can't get myself to keep playing and enjoy the game.

I tried the restart level thing. Only worked once with the central level, inside where you fight the thing from War of the Worlds.

At times square, no matter what I did, it would still be there.

I just created an account here to get my tiny butt seen, in a hope that Crytek will fix this, quickly.

If not, then I'm seriously gonna be careful on buying games from you guys in the future.

Since Far Cry 1, I have hold you guys together in a group with, id, valve and epic. How the game is in this state, is really making you, crytek stick out from that group. How something like this could get past testing is unbealiveable.

On a little sidenote...I normally don't buy that many games at their release, cause I wait for them to drop in price and wait, for patches to fix most problems with a game. And the last one, cause why should the first supporters of a game, get to be the guinea pigs?

So I finally go out and get Crysis 2, cause it's from Crytek. And I get punished for buying the game at release.


Exact same problem i had, Times square was literally unplayable, This happend 4 days ago and i havent played single player since because the grain completely ruined it.

I only have this problem in the levels where it's dark (subway, nigthtime manhattan). I thought it was meant to be stylistic:D (bad style I agree, but ME had this weird grain as an option as well, so who knows Ithought).

I was kinda bummed about it, then I just played ahead, cleared up with the next zone.

I think it's time for everyone here to do what a lot of us have already done:


Just sell the game and move on. History repeating itself over and over with people buying, keeping and complaining about a broken game will obviously never change. It won't be fixed and probably can't be fixed.

The developers have said absolutely nothing about the game since it released, nothing about the problems or nothing to the community that just lined their pockets.

Just get rid of the game and move on.

It's really not that great to begin with and I personally feel games such as Bioshock and Farcry 2 look years ahead since this game has constant pop-in, jaggies and everything always flickering not to mention the awful shadows. Nevermind the glitchy effects thrown on top of all that.

Stop giving them the satisfaction of cattle lined up waiting to never be fed and play some better looking and playing games of which there many even from 2007.

Well, clearing the cache worked for about a day for me and the 'Grain glitch' has resurrected. It came back around the time I started the 'time square' missions and on...It really svcks cause that mission is sooo cool with the rain...but with the 'grain glitch' happening I can't tell which is the rain or the glitch.

I was quite upset when it came back so I decided to go rent the PS3 version of Crysis2... ummm to my surprise the PS3 version of C2 looks like absolute $hit compared to the 360 version...the resolution and jaggies are horrible. I have HDMI connected for both my PS3 and 360, getting the best resolution possible...but the differences are night and day.
I'd rather deal with the 'grain glitch' on 360 than deal with bad visuals on PS3. This isn't any fanboy rage against the PS3 as I own and love both systems. I just thought that Crytek could have pushed the PS3 more.

Anyway back on topic...yeah...ummm...Crytek!

FIX THE G0D D@MN 'GRAIN GLITCH' ON 360...I KNOW YOUR QA KNEW IT WAS THERE BEFORE LAUNCH...FIX IT.

Played it all the way through with the grain-glitch.

Well I can say that I haven't had any problems since I cleared the cache, but I'm having trouble enjoying the game now. I keep turning on nanonvision to check the grain glitch. So annoying. I just know that it's going to come back. Like someone said earlier...you can't tell me that the QA team didn't notice this when testing. How is it that the gamers let companies get away with releasing a product that has such noticeable bugs in it. This doesn't help Crytek's reputation at all.

I hate to have to bring you the bad news, but I have tried that already. Rest assured the glitch will return. It's there until they fix it, that's all there is to it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will announce and release the patch this coming week. If not, back to being bummed about Crysis 2.

If you're talking about update# 2, than no...this update did not fix it. The 'Grain glitch' has returned for me...it comes and goes all the time though...very aggravating.
