It happened to me too. So it's not a one time issue.

On 360, you don't have to be offline to get around patches.

All you have to do is clear your cache and all patches for any game saves on your HDD will be erased. You can then start the game up and you'll once again be promted to download the updates. This goes for EVERY game on your HDD so beware if you have tons of games with lots of updates since you'll be forced to redownload them all again when booting each one up for the first time.

Just click "Cancel or NO" when promted to download the Crysis 2 updates and play SP while signed into Live without the need for updates. For MP though, you'll be forced to download the updates to play.

When I completed the game I erased all my data and started over and the lines were gone. Unfortunately, they came back during the wall street section.

And no, I don't think this was caused by a patch since my xbox isn't hooked up to the internet. I've downloaded no patches and the lines are still there.

If this problem persists, then all of you, who have this problem, write like a **** to any game related website and such. To maybe, get them to talk about it, get it more out in the open, cause this is just piss poor service from Crytek. You buy one of their games, and it's practically unplayable.

I'd would recommend Epic Battle Axe's site. They are normally pretty level headed, and up for talking about issues like this on their show.

Then their is Gametrailers invisble walls show. Try and write them.

Feedback from g4 maybe?

Properly wound't do much good, but atleast we aren't just ignoring the problem.

^^ Some good ideas there, but hopefully it won't come to that. If Crytek would have tested this game thoroughly to begin with this probably wouldn't even be an issue though.

Ummmmmm......do moderators even read these boards? If they do and can't at least say that they are looking into this issue then they svck.
I was a huuuuuuge advocate for this game but seeing as there are 29 pages of players complaining about a big graphical issue and not so much as a "we are looking into it" from developers, I don't think this game has much of a future.

At least the Gears beta is around the corner.

I might be moving on to Metro 2033 soon if they don't at least say something soon.

Come to think of it, I remember that game being glitchy and needing to be patched badly. ****!

Ive this Grain Bug too and its unplayable!
Especially the 3D mode is a NoGo with this Bug. Even the Film Grain itself (On Console) is Way too much in my opinion.
The PC Version looks so clean and runs smooth in 1080p 2xAA/16xAF Medium Settings on my Mainstreamsystem with Core i5 750, 4GB Ram, and HD5770.
Meanwhile i play it on PC with the wireless Xbox360 gamepad (Controlls are exactly the same as on Xbox360) on my 46" FullHD and it looks awesome! So smooth without any Perfomance Drops, great Engine Crytek! :) The Xbox360 Version still looks very good until the Grain Bug appears. Then it looks like Crap.

I cant understand how Crytek can release a Game with such a heavy Bug! Fix it, otherwise its a shame...

As soon as this bug kicks in, 3D becomes useless. It's very frustrating.

The ongoing silence from Crytek isn't helping...

You need to use the PS3 version, once you get usedto the different picture its more smooth than the Xbox version and doesn't have any graphics missing so closer to the PC version with better lighting and draw distance than the Xbox. And runs nice doesn't have this horrible stuff i got rid of my Xbox version it just can't handle it nearly broke my Xbox lol.

I was tempted to get the PS3 version but according to some guys on the forum who has experienced both versions, the PS3 version is crap in comparison.

In my experience most games look and play better on Xbox...

Thats only because most games are made for the Xbox then ported to the PS3. Which is why i still have an Xbox and still like it for allot games. But when battlefield 3 comes out allot developers will stop being lazy and have no excuse to be lazy as DICE have made a version for each platform, and the PS3 version looks and performs better actually using it in the way its ment to. Dont get me rong i love the Xbox, but when utalized the PS3 is a little better in everyway. After all it was made after the 360 and is more powerfull. Although the 36 has superior processing, when the PS3's GPU is used to aid its CPU the outcome is more performance utalizing the power. While most nearly all multiplatform games don't do this because they are made for the Xbox then utalized the best possible for the PS3.

Don't hold your breath for a superior Battlefield 3 on PS3... Crytek said the same about Crysis 2 on PS3 and look what happened. The PS3 version is regarded as the worst of the bunch. EA likes to sell BS PR when it comes to PS3 games.

I do agree that the PS3 is a powerful console, I just don't think it's necessarily more powerful than the Xbox 360. The Xbox is more balanced with a good CPU, GPU, and RAM. While the PS3 has a excellent CPU and crap GPU/ RAM.

Let's be honest, all PS3 exclusive games are very good looking but restrictive gameplay wise. The bigger the levels the more the PS3 suffers...

i tried almost every trick to get rid of this nasty glitch but nothing worked, so i put my crisys 2 disc in my other xbox 360 without hdd, offline and without any profile and started the game. up to the first point where you can control alcatraz and there it is, the glorious look of the game without any grain and stupid lines. i didnt change any hdmi cable and my hd ready tv is still the same.

so please crytek aknowledge this issue and fix it!

I can confirm that its some how attached to your profile because I tried all, deleting game from HDD and install agan, clear cache to delete patches, play off the disc and nothing worked, but what did worked was once you resume your game let it play like for a minute then go directly to dashboard, start the game again and replay mission instead of resume, that got rid of the bug in my game, the game is beautifull again :)

At least that do work but please Crytek put a patch up.

Now Im playing offline with my profile signed for achievements but I wont download any patches while this bug exists.

I just played last night without signing into my gamer tag. No grain. Very clean.

*sigh*

Crytek please make a statement. I will accept the following:

1."Hey guys we are aware of this issue but right now are not sure what is causing it. We are looking into it extensively. In the mean time please be patient."

2."Guys we have been focused on the PC version as that version has its own bugs but we have begun to explore this graphics issue. More info to come soon."

3. "Guys we have pinpointed the problem and a patch is imminent. We apologize for not responding but this problem will be resolved."

Give us SOMETHING. ANYTHING. But for goodness sake the worst thing you can do is bury your head in the sand and NOT respond. You guys are killing me and in all honesty you are hurting your image. Right now it's getting to the point where I will take bad news rather than no news. So please let us know where you are with this matter.

Maybe the joke is on us and you haven't even opened this thread. Seriously you guys cannot be this blind or negligent. It really is a disgrace right now the way you guys are conducting yourselves in terms of interacting with a community who WANTS to enjoy this game and will support you in future endeavors but you need to work with us. It's a two-way street! How can I recommend this game to others or future games to myself and others if the developer does not seem to care about what the gaming community is reporting about said game.

HOW HARD IS IT FOR SOMEONE TO COME IN HERE AND MAKE A STATEMENT??!! HECK EVEN IF YOU CAME IN HERE AND SAID, "GUYS WE ARE DOUBTFUL THAT THIS WILL BE FIXED BUT WE HAVE BEEN LOOKING INTO IT." Heck yeah I'd be disappointed but at least then I can just move on and deal with these "homemade" fixes but tell us SOMETHING!!!
