31 pages and still not a sticky? MAKE IT A DAMN STICKY!!! This is a huge issue, we have proof, we need a response from Crytek, now!

Thats only because most games are made for the Xbox then ported to the PS3. Which is why i still have an Xbox and still like it for allot games. But when battlefield 3 comes out allot developers will stop being lazy and have no excuse to be lazy as DICE have made a version for each platform, and the PS3 version looks and performs better actually using it in the way its ment to. Dont get me rong i love the Xbox, but when utalized the PS3 is a little better in everyway. After all it was made after the 360 and is more powerfull. Although the 36 has superior processing, when the PS3's GPU is used to aid its CPU the outcome is more performance utalizing the power. While most nearly all multiplatform games don't do this because they are made for the Xbox then utalized the best possible for the PS3.

Don't hold your breath for a superior Battlefield 3 on PS3... Crytek said the same about Crysis 2 on PS3 and look what happened. The PS3 version is regarded as the worst of the bunch. EA likes to sell BS PR when it comes to PS3 games.

I do agree that the PS3 is a powerful console, I just don't think it's necessarily more powerful than the Xbox 360. The Xbox is more balance with a good CPU, GPU, and RAM. While the PS3 has a excellent CPU and crap GPU/ RAM.

Let's be honest, all PS3 exclusive games are very good looking but restrictive gameplay wise. The bigger the levels the more the PS3 suffers...

Crytek said that they were having more performance out of the PS3 in early development. But Crysis 2 isn't made for each version individualy, it is one version and then it is adapted via the settings for each platform. Crytek being a PC company origionaly with this game isn't easily adapted for the PS3 as the 360 is closer to a PC's setup in terms of the hardware, so they made this game look the best it can on the 360 which is what was the easiest and compensated the PC version to not look as good as it could and the PS3 version to not look as good as it could.
Where as battlefield has been made in not one version, but 3 different versions, 1 for the Xbox to make it the best it can on that platform, 1 for the PS3 to make it the best it can on that platform, and 1 for the PC to make it the best it can be for that.
This is why i didnt get Crysis2 for the PC because its effectivly a console port and is nowhere near what it should be for the PC, but is also not what it should be for the PS3 as it was really made for the Xbox 360 like nearly all multi platofrm games as its alot easier. But i just couldn't handle the grain issue on the Xbox and actually like the draw distance and lighting once i got usedto the appearance of the PS3 version when my firend brought round the PS3 version which is why i traded it in for that one.

While with most gmaes these days the Xbox is running at or near 100% of its capacity, while the PS3 isn't. But DICE have made a version for the PS3 which uses it in the way it is ment and uses its power appropriatly and to an extent. Instead of using its power to cover up things that the result from the game not being fully PS3 friendly.

Battlefield 3 is looking good on the PS3 [my uncle accually had a private demo veiwing he works for gamespot] and is closer to the PC version. But there is not much difference the Xbox version is styill very good the PS3 version is just slightly more impressive in every aspect. It just means we will have more of a choice.

Nick...please stop wasting this thread space with your jarggin...if you have no issues with your ps3 version please just shut up and stay out...we are trying to deal with a specific issue here...stop throwing this thread off track...moron!

I just played last night without signing into my gamer tag. No grain. Very clean.

*sigh*

Crytek please make a statement. I will accept the following:

1."Hey guys we are aware of this issue but right now are not sure what is causing it. We are looking into it extensively. In the mean time please be patient."

2."Guys we have been focused on the PC version as that version has its own bugs but we have begun to explore this graphics issue. More info to come soon."

3. "Guys we have pinpointed the problem and a patch is imminent. We apologize for not responding but this problem will be resolved."

Give us SOMETHING. ANYTHING. But for goodness sake the worst thing you can do is bury your head in the sand and NOT respond. You guys are killing me and in all honesty you are hurting your image. Right now it's getting to the point where I will take bad news rather than no news. So please let us know where you are with this matter.

Maybe the joke is on us and you haven't even opened this thread. Seriously you guys cannot be this blind or negligent. It really is a disgrace right now the way you guys are conducting yourselves in terms of interacting with a community who WANTS to enjoy this game and will support you in future endeavors but you need to work with us. It's a two-way street! How can I recommend this game to others or future games to myself and others if the developer does not seem to care about what the gaming community is reporting about said game.

HOW HARD IS IT FOR SOMEONE TO COME IN HERE AND MAKE A STATEMENT??!! HECK EVEN IF YOU CAME IN HERE AND SAID, "GUYS WE ARE DOUBTFUL THAT THIS WILL BE FIXED BUT WE HAVE BEEN LOOKING INTO IT." Heck yeah I'd be disappointed but at least then I can just move on and deal with these "homemade" fixes but tell us SOMETHING!!!

Bumping for great justice.

Every time i play the 'time square' mission the 'grain glitch' is there...I know this mission is amazing looking. Has anyone played this mission without the 'grain'?

Chill out... im just giving advice as i had this problem also, and Ino allot of people have both systems so you do have a choice here....

"You need to use the PS3 version, once you get usedto the different picture its more smooth than the Xbox version and doesn't have any graphics missing so closer to the PC version with better lighting and draw distance than the Xbox. And runs nice doesn't have this horrible stuff i got rid of my Xbox version it just can't handle it nearly broke my Xbox lol."

Dude you are dense...I had this argument with you in this exact thread about 10-15 pages back.

As I stated back then...I picked up both versions. I have HDMI connection from both systems to my TV.

PS3 LOOKS LIKE $HIT COMPARED TO XBOX 360 VERSION. Sorry my eyes don't lie. The 'grain glitch' we are experiencing is not meant to be there...and only happens half way through the game...so we know how crisp and clean our version is. The PS3 version as a whole is blurred and lower res than the 360 version.

No you are not here to help...you keep coming in here and throwing this topic off. Now shut up and stay out!

you just stick with that story

literally nothing you just said is true

Look im sorry if you feel that way but I can't help you if your in denial.... and by the way you repeat and things you say its as if you are lol.

Im just saying what helped me. I didn't like this it ruind the game for me. I would rather play it on Xbox but i have a PS3 and now I've got this version i just have more fun with the game now....

You are such a liar...you stated before that you only tried your brothers xbox version.

you can't just make stuff up and then state them as facts

I think you need to go look up the definition of the word "true" and "untrue"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Z87_kK10Ck THIS IS A VIDEO OF THE GRAIN/STATIC BUG IN ACTION, SCREEN GOING FROM CLEAR TO UNCLEAR! SKIP TO 2:15 IF YOU WANT TO GET RIGHT TO IT! PLEASE WATCH AND COMMENT!

Edit: To see the grain bug the best, put the video on 480p but don't go to full screen mode.

The quality of my video isn't the best, it's an old camera but it's all I have. You can clearly see the screen going from the regular grain filter to the bug. This topic needs to be a sticky, and Crytek needs to acknowledge and address this issue.

Guys, please, stay on topic. Just ignore the trolls on this forum, we need to focus on getting Crytek's attention and not pointlessly arguing with trolls.

... but what did worked was once you resume your game let it play like for a minute then go directly to dashboard, start the game again and replay mission instead of resume, that got rid of the bug in my game, the game is beautifull again :)

thx for the tip. i'll try that. but when you restart a mission, did you restart from a mission which you played online, or did you play the campaign offline again?

It's getting really annoying to start over and over the same missions. Don't get me wrong, i love this game but it isn't fun when this happens. Restarting a mission solves it temporarily. We need a permanent solution to this bug.

Hey guys check out the 'Issues list' thread...it's on the top of the list now.
Crytek is observing that thread the most for issues so I'm sure they're aware of it and looking into it.

We're gonna need to exercise some patients.

Yes, I replayed a mission I played while I was online.

I resumed the game where I was then went to dashboard and started the game only this time I replayed the mission I was, you have to start the mission from the beginning I know is annoying but I would do anything to get rid of this stupid bug, you can sign to your profile but offline so you don't miss your achievements or get prompted to patch it.

Well, after clearing the cache a couple of days ago and being able to play without any problems, the glitch has cropped up again on the Semper Fi or Die mission. I tried clearing the cache again, but no luck this time. I'm tempted to try these other tricks to get it working again, but I'm so fed up with it that I think I'm just going to wait until they patch it...which is pathetic. I don't even want to play the game anymore.

This post has started to creep down off the front page. We have to keep it on the first page so that Crytek knows that's it still an issue. I've really been enjoying the game, but to release a game with such a bad glitch, and to also have such bad support (no word from Crytek at all) makes me want to seek getting my money back somehow. This glitch makes the game go from awesome graphics to what the crap is this mess?

Hello,

I have the Grain/Parasite issue as well. It happens in Campaign and Multiplayer. I can do the temporary fix people are talking about... but it always comes back after a while. Its very frustrating. Crytek, please fix this Grain\Parasite issue along with the other Crysis 2 bugs. Patiently, waiting for a Patch.

*Note: It happens even when I'm not using Nanovision.

Thanks

I have gone back to just playing and enjoying the game. The issues will get ironed out eventually I'm sure. I just look past the grain glitch now and enjoy what's behind it. Crysis 2 is my favorite FPS and I will like it even more when the issues, especially this one, get fixed.

The comment about turning the game off and then on and restarting the level you were on works like a charm for the grain/filter bug.
Thank you to whoever found that out. It svcks to have to do it, but it will work until crytek releases a real fix.
But when it's not there this game is the best looking game on consoles. Sorry Halo:Reach and Killzone 3!

thx again. in my desperation i deleted my savefile, which seemed to work but just until the first rain mission. this is the point where the **** really hits the fan. at the end of mission the annoying lines came back. as soon as is reached the next mission i used dashboard exit workaround and to my solace it worked. it is at least a possibility to enjoy the game as it was used to look.
