BUMP as well. This problem has been occurring constatly with me and even when I reboot and restart a mission as soon as I use the scope on my rifle the crazy grain crops up and never goes away. This is truly frustrating and I refuse to play the game any more until it's patched. If not patched I will be calling EA and will be making a huge stink to get my money back.

*after playing normally for 1-2 hours*, the output gets this weird Grain/Static effect on screen (like very old CRT TVs malfunctioning), like a transparent "No TV Signal-Static"-like effect, and it's really ugly, distracting and annoying to see.
It means that your graphic chip has overheated..Game dont have this issue..

The only thing overheated here is your brain Lorenso, if you're not concerned by the glitch and not working for EA or Crytek why don't you just leave this topic ?

Seriously people, just ignore him please. It tends to get this post off topic which is not good. We want a fix from Crytek so let's not get all worked up over Lorenso.

I haven't played the past 2 days because of this, Im almost at the end of the game and I refuse to play like this, I know I have a fix but I shouldn't be doing this type of stuff to a play a game I paid a lot for.

PLease Crytek, I odn't think it should be hard to quick patch this, I mean come on I want to play without the fear of something making my game look terrible.

I haven't played either. I won't play again until it's patched. I did the temporary fix one time and it came back. I'm not doing it again.

What bugs me more than the glitch is that there's been so little information given to us from the dev. as to the status of a patch to deal with this grain issue or if a patch is even incoming at all. They've been aware of this at least for 13 days and all Cry-Adam has said is that he's read about the issue and will get back to us and then he has yet to update us with anything. Without doubt they know now whether they can fix it or not. AT LEAST TELL US IF WE CAN EVER EXPECT THIS TO BE FIXED. If it cannot be I will simply consider my $59.99 wasted and will do what I can to recoup it. But I'd much rather keep and enjoy the game but without this absurd glitch which never should have made it to the "gold" stage. I've dealt with problems with Halo Reach & Black Ops and the good thing about both of those game's communities is that the developer continually updates their fans as to the goings on behind the scenes. This shows they care. All I see now is that Crytek doesn't care once they get my $59.99.

Well, to tell you whether or not it can be fixed first requires information, testing, reproduction, fixing and scheduling with patches. There are many fixes in the works and as such, information comes in large clumps, i haven't yet received the latest clump but as i've already mentioned; as soon as i know, i'll let you know :)

Thanks for the update Cry-Adam. Hope we get a fix sooner rather than later.

Yes this kind of response from the moderator does help...Thanks Cry-Adam.
Multiple patches in the works...hope the 'grain glitch' fix is in the early batch.

I played the entire last two missions with the 'grain' last night...not pretty. On the bright side...when/if it gets fixed I will truely enjoy the singleplayer campaign again.

WARNING: Do not respond to Lorenso's posts. He's in his own world.

tell you whether or not it can be fixed..
first
1. requires information about issue
2. testing this issue
3. reproduction this issue..
and only if game really have this issue..
4. fixing and scheduling with patches..
You still haven't understood?
But i dont have this issue..most part of people dont have this issue..

As long as I can expect it to ever be fixed I'm satisified. But the fear that I may never be able to play the game as intended truly frustrated me. This helps.

Even if 10% of the population of game owners experience this issue, it still needs to be recitified. Or should the 10% just consider their money wasted? Regardless I have a new 360 Slim which was manufactured in late 2010. Newest motherboard and in immaculate condition and yet I have this problem and I can continually cause it again and again without issue.

I had the grain glitch but after clearing my xbox's system cache and restarting my Single player game. I haven't seen the glitch since in Singleplayer or multiplayer.

follow link on how to clear system cache....
http://support.xbox.com/en-us/pages/xbox-360/troubleshoot/hardware/clear-system-cache.aspx

Hope this helps some of you.

PS- I remember someone had commented on the possible cause of the grain glitch being due to continuing a saved game in single-player. That got me thinking. I wonder if you started a single-player game before the March 31st patch, then continue with the same game after the patch has been applied is the cause. I've seen people posting that if they prevent the game from patching, the bug doesn't rear its ugly head either.

We have tried that already. The glitch will show up again, you just haven't played enough yet. The glitch always goes away when starting a new game. Rest assured that it will happen again as you progress through the campaign.
