sorry about the poor clarity camera is old.

This is what happens if i continue to play multiplayer online play in xbox360. The first game i play works great then this gradual degradation of the graphics occur, starting with what is in the images posted. All my other game titles work fine on my xbox 360 and this is the 3rd disc i have exchanged and replaced in a attempt to get a working disc. This is obviously a severe issue with the game itself and urgently needs a patch. A total waste of 65 bucks for the limited edition version if this is what is gonna happen. Even the first atari games look better then this.

Like i said before the is a beautiful game and i love it very much, it worked fine since the launch till 3 days ago.

Cry-adam stated in the stickied 'patch notes' thread...that they're currently working on a fix for the grain glitch. That's good news to me.

Yes, they finally acknowledged that they're working on the grain bug! Thank you Crytek for not brushing this off to the side. I'm disappointed that it's not in this patch, but at least we know that they're working on it. Hopefully we'll see a fix sooner rather than later, but I'm afraid that it may be a while now since the next patch will have to go through the certification. Well, until then, I'll be playing other games. I'd rather hold off on playing the "best looking game on consoles" until it is actually the best looking game on consoles.

For the lazy ones...

Thank you for your patience and we look forward to your feedback on the new patch. To check you've got the latest version, please start the game, click on Multiplayer and in the top left corner should say 1.1.1.8003.

We are aware that this patch does not include a fix for the grain bug that many of you are experiencing but we are working on this issue and will hopefully have it resolved soon.

Hey guys,

So i've been playing C2 on the 360 with the latest patch and i'm yet to encounter this bug myself. Not at all suggesting it doesn't exist but i'm looking for some help with reproducing the issue. Can anyone confirm that it happens in a particular place/event?

The team have given us some data they'd like in order to help narrow down the issue. I've not experienced it so far but as an example of the information we're after:

1) Latest Patch: Yes, 1.1.1.8003
2) Connection type: Component
3) Resolution: 1920x1080
4) Console type: Elite 60GB
5) Reproducable? No. I've tried switching Nanovision frequently. Tried looking at lights specifically. 3.5 hours in, Terminus level.

If we can narrow down the cause with your help then it'll be much easier to fix :)

Cheers!

i dont know what exactly fixed me issue that i posted earlier here, but it is now fixed. I switched to a older backup gamesave yesterday then got the patch and now the game is runner way better, absolutely no glitches for me or anything, and it runs faster. If it was the patch, THANK YOU crytek!, it it was the gamesave corrupted somehow, i am glad i had my saves backed up.

Oh man, I really was hoping that you guys almost had a fix for this. Anyhow, here's my information:

1) Latest Patch: No. Haven't played it lately.
2) Connection type: Component
3) Resolution: 720p
4) Console type: 250GB Slim
5) Reproducable? Can't remember where exactly it happened the first time. However, the 2nd time it happened to me was about 1 minute into the Semper Fi or Die mission. Standard "temporary fixes" didn't fix the issue the 2nd time around.

Hope that helps. Maybe I should try playing on the latest patch to see if that fixes the issue for me. I hope that everyone that has posted in this thread will give you the information that you need Cry-Adam. Thanks for posted and letting us know that you guys are working on it! We definitely appreciate it!

1) Latest Patch: Yes, 1.1.1.8003
2) Connection type: Component
3) Resolution: 1080i
4) Console type: Pro 20GB
5) Reproducable? YES, Gate Keepers level at night with rain, triggers it. Also it is very bad on Unsafe Haven and Terminus levels.

Any where it is nightime in a level or raining out. In NanoVision it looks like 10,000 honeycomb shapes scrolling sideways...

Cry-adam youtube is a excellent source of exact locations and information on crysis 2 glitches/bug/hacks etc. I have even seen a few home grown fixes from PC users posted.

1) Latest Patch: Yes, 1.1.1.8003
2)Connection Type: VGA
3)Resolution: 1280x1024 VGA Monitor
4)Console Type: XBox 360 Arcade("Jasper" chipset) 250gb HDD(game installed)
5)Reproducable: Yes. All I have to do is start a new game and not stop playing. Eventually, usually for me during the Road Rage level, it will show up. But there does not seem to be a specific place that this bug occurs. I have had it happen on multiple stages and in different spots in those stages. Once the glitch occurs it does not go away. It stays with my save game. I have to restart the mission in mission replay to get the glitch to go away.

EDIT: I am thinking of backing up my save game and starting a fresh save with this patch. Then I can see if it happens even with a completely new save. I'll report back with my findings.

EDIT2: Still happened even with a fresh save. :/

if you want to see this glitch actually occurring....

go to the level "seat of power"
after you make it out of the apartment building and past the first group of ceph you'll enter a small room with a dead body on the floor and a radio on the table

in this room you'll reach a checkpoint just before going up a small flight of stairs

turn on your nano vision and go up the stairs and walk in to the next room

after a few steps the glitch should take affect right before your eyes and will not go away and it carries over to the next level

it must have something to do with a bug with particle effects in large, open environments

No, it is not level specific. I can load that stage from mission replay and play through that stage just fine. It is only when I play continuously that the bug eventually occurs. There does not seem to be a specific area that it occurs. I have had it happen at different spots throughout the first 5 or 6 chapters. It never happens for me in the first 2 chapters, but does at any point after.

1) Latest Patch: Yes, 1.1.1.8003
2) Connection type: HDMI
3) Resolution: 720p/1080i (not sure which one it's using)
4) Console type: Elite 250gb (MW2 bundle)
5) Reproducible? Yes. Any time a fog/dust effect has come into play like 'road rage'. Recently the 'grain bug' has appeared through out 'corporate collapse'....'power out'. Most levels after mission 4. The 'grain glitch' will also carry into Multiplayer if I join a match after playing the single-player with 'grain glitch' present. The glitch is very noticeable while looking into night sky or through nano-vision.

When quiting game to dashboard and then restarting a mission level from start (not resume check-point), The 'grain glitch' will be gone...then will return after a couple more missions after that.

I've currently got the glitch on my current checkpoint in 'corporate collapse'...the area when you enter into the bottom of the building in the garage...i've decided to keep it at this checkpoint and am now checking every night to see if the 'grain glitch' is still appearing at this checkpoint...well so far after a week it is still there. I know if I restart from the begining of this mission after dashboarding, the glitch will be gone. It seems to attach itself into our savegame file.

Hope this helps.

I'd like to add that when playing straight through missions in singleplayer while the 'grain glitch' is present, it will become more intense and noticeable...to a point where it's very ugly and hard to play.

load the stage and try it right now
i can almost guarantee it'll happen

it happens in this spot every time on my game and i've tried this with two other copies on two other 360s that belong to family members and it happens in that spot also

Well if you found a spot where it always occurs then cheers to you dude. That should help Crytek find the problem. I'll try it.

Oh wait, I know where you are talking about and I can confirm that if I use mission replay I do NOT get the glitch in that stage at any spot. It is not level specific I am sorry to say.
