graphical problems

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 7:06 am

Every so often, the DX9 mode will become extreemely dark and I can fix it by simply chaning the ingame graphics preset from ultra to extreme and back. It has become so annoying that I switched to dx11 mode.

Now dx11 looks no better to me, and it feels real choppy even though fraps would say I'm having 30 fps (or 24 i dont remeber which). Turning vsynch does help alot, but choppiness is still very present, even if fraps says i'm having 90+fps.

Also, the dx11 mode will get some other corruptions like radial blur centering in and expanding outwards. Also HUD completely dissapearing. Dying or leaving the game are only 2 ways that work. The dx9 corruption fix trick does not work here.

They game will sometimes bug out if i die, not letting me proceed to the next objective unless i leave the game and resume campaging.

I hope I didnt miss anything. My rig: c2q 6600 @3gh, 4gb ram, gtx 460 1gb 275.33 drivers on windows 7 x64 sp1 fully updated (22. july 2011)

The game is pretty awesome when it works. I hope there are workarrounds for these problems, or that patch is in the workings. Thank you!

I get the choppyness without losing frames also. I think too much vram is being used but I'm a novice at technical computer stuff.

I also had the motion blur bug one time. Everything was blurring as hell except for a small point to the left of my screen even when I was still. Power sliding triggered this.

Are you bipolar?

But seriously now- with ultra I do get ~20fps. With "high" graphic preset, fraps is saying I have 90+ fps, but I do not feel this, It does appear faster, but not by much. At least, turning the v-synch off stops mouse cursor from chopping its way around. GPU-Z does say that over 900megs of vram are being used, but thats still under 1024mb that the GPU has.

I'm bi-winning

I've never personally checked nor do I know how but others on these forums are saying it's using up to 1500mbs of the vram sometimes, which clearly is a lot but my card has 2GB of memory and easily fills that requirement. But I still get the lag you describe with no lower in fps.

However when I switch to extreme I have a much better time running the game. It bounces between 50-90 for me pretty much the whole way through with vsync disabled. It's the tesselation that causes my lag which is only enabled via the ultra setting. DX11 without that setting only affects lighting, shadows and reflections I think.

Long story short, I'm getting the same problems you are, and i don't know whats causing them (I don't ever really get a dark screen though, at least not dark enough to be a hinderance).
