Graphical updates for older FO games

Post » Sun Jun 27, 2010 10:06 am

I remember hearing about graphical update mods to the older FO games. I just recently bought the "Fallout Trilogy" re-release with FO1, FO2, and FOT, and would like to acquire them if they do exist. Do they? And if so, where can I DL them?

The ones I've seen/used aren't the greatest.

The only one I ended up using was a resolution mod that allowed it run in higher resolution (can't remember if it was either 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768, off-hand.) That one seemed to work pretty well, but it did end up moving the menus and whatnot around. Can't remember the name (and the one I have is for Fallout 2 - never got around to it with Fallout 1,) but it's basically a customizable config file that lets you choose your resolution and a number of other options. Mostly I got it because you could unlink the scroll limit from your character, allowing you to scroll all the way around the map regardless of where your character was (previously you were limited to a certain distance from your PC.)

No Mutants Allowed is where I found all of my Fallout 1 and 2 stuff, though - that would be the best place to look if you haven't already.

Other than high resolution patch there is sfall by world reknown Timeslip :) It adds some DX9 effects like texture filtering, antialiasing, etc. - it works quite well but you must configure it right. Of course you need Killap's Fallout 2 Patch too.
