Grass visibility distance

Hi, people

Looks like I've already tried everything with .ini tweaking, video settings and so on but my problem still bothers me.

For example, there are three points at map:

A - player;

B -100 m from A - beginning of large sea of grass (closest edge);

C - 200 m from A - ending of large sea of grass (further edge).

When player moves towards sea of grass and distance between A and B becomes about 50 m, WHOLE sea of grass becomes visible.

Before that moment NO grass is visible.

I think it should look another way: as player becomes closer to point B, grass becomes visible gradually. But I can't make game work this way!

How can I fix the problem?

Thanx.

Did you make any adjustments to fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance? Increasing that value to about 12000 is the best you can do about the grass. It appears based on the cells that are visible at any one time, which is 2 cells in each direction and the one your character is in. Nothing gets drawn after that, so until you move beyond that range, into the next cells, no grass is drawn. You could try to increase the value of uGrids to load, then increasing the grass fade distance, but that's not really recommended. It will put extra strain on your video card and make your game more unstable. It's not a problem, just the way the game engine works.
