Great game, but.........

Post » Mon Mar 07, 2016 10:00 am

This really is a great game obviously the result of a lot of thought and hard work, but why is it that a game with so much attention to detail cannot patch out the "little" annoyances that are becoming really annoying?

Almost every time I go back to let's say Sanctuary, I find a Pack-Brahmin on the roof of my main house, or I go talk to Preston in one of the bedrooms and there is a Brahmin trying to climb out of the window, or I have Settlers standing on the beds and/or chairs, or UPCs walking into walls or standing in the bedroom cultivating the crops outside.

For me this kind of fix is a must for a future patch.

What about no visable holstered weapons? I personally enjoy pulling my weapon out of my bum. It keeps it nice and warm...

I don't know if this applies to the OP, but I had similar Brahmin-associated weirdness when I placed guard posts on the Brahmin's normal resting place. Similarly, Sturges ended up on the roof when I placed a sofa against the wall he likes to hammer, and Marcy did too when I placed a stalk of corn a little too close to a wall.

I'm not justifying the glitch in any way, but for me it occurs only when I put objects in places that intersect with scripted NPC paths.

It will be great when they fix the level 4 vendors. I get tired of the repetitive, unskippable speeches some of them give you, every time you want to make a transaction.

Lol, I remember seeing a few 'wall of text' rants about no weapon holsters on various forums. It's not a big deal imo, though it would be cool to see your weapon actually holstered and not disappear into thin air when you sheathe it.

I've spent several hours in Skyrim trying to mod the game, so that the bow and the quiver wouldn't flow behind the character in the air

The weapon clipping looks terrible as well, once you wear something like a cloak.

With the new armor system and the new Power Armor, there is no way you can make your weapon visible, without creating horrible clipping.

That's the main reason why they avoided it this time and I'm almost happy for that ^^

And the Brahmin on the roof is fun and adds to the atmosphear of the game :D

Just a minor annoyance, this doesn't make the difference between a good game or a bad one. And don't tell me it never made you laugh.

With my first playthrough I had the Bramin on the roof.

I put in a stairway and then spent 30 minutes placing a small stairway and trying to get the Bramin to move.

Finally I got it down from the roof. I left the stairway there and didn't have the problem again.

Except soon after Preston ended up on the roof...I left him up there...

I didn't care but he somehow made his way off the roof....

Fallout 4 has been my first Fallout game and I'm enjoying it a lot.Its pretty obvious to me after over 100 hours that there are a lot of systems going on in the game.Given that the game lets you do pretty much anything you want wherever you want, whenever you want, sometimes things are going to overlap and weird stuff is going to happen.Patching quest bugs should be a prority I think, but expecting ever possible problem to be fixed is not really possible.I've had very few bugs in my playthrough so far and no serious ones, but I have to say this is the first game I've ever played where I felt the game could break at any moment, lol. It feels like the game is held together with duct tape, perhaps a new engine would fix that.

I wish Brahmin would remain near their handlers and stay off the damn roofs in my settlements.

I wish NPCs would also stay off the roofs.

I wish Marcy and Preston would remain inside their makeshift prison cells at all times.

Interesting, I just had a Brahmin spawn inside a house for the first time, I wonder if this is the problem.

This is my experience as well.

Do not -- I repeat, DO NOT -- build anything complicated you plan to have your character spend any time in (such as with crafting stations and the like) on that first cement pad on the left as you cross the bridge into Sanctuary. That's where the brahmin spawn, and they will be constantly in your way. I built a place that had a semi-hidden crafting station room right at the edge of build area on that pad, and the brahmin in the room were relentless. And because I made the room semi-hidden (by which I just mean only one way in or out, and it was not readily apparent from the main sections of the overall building), they couldn't easily find their way out. Eventually, they'd just disappear, but talk about immersion breaking.

Absolutely, that's why I made it clear that it's still a great game.

I'm more concerned about the flying Brahmin I have in Sanctuary that die from falling. And then I'm stuck with a Brahmin corpse I can't move.

I had 3 of them standing on top of each other, something you would see cheerleaders do. I tried to take a picture but couldn't find my phone fast enough.

I think it's hilarious when they end up on roofs, plus it keeps them out of my way. I hate when you are in build mode and a Brahmim starts pushing you out the way or stops right where you are trying to place an item.

When I first started playing, I didn't pay attention and put Brahmim feeds in all of my bathrooms. Needless to say my bathrooms were always full.

I saw two brahmin fighting over a trough. One flew straight up in the air and fell back to earth and died.

Tears were streaming down my face as I ate a delicious ribeye that evening.

I had a trader visit the Tenpines settlement. The brahmin carrying the goods was on his head. Now I know there are some outlandish hats to be found in the game but...
