Great House Sadris?

Post » Thu Dec 27, 2012 12:42 pm

So I was talking to Councilor Morvayn and I asked him about the Great Houses of Morrowind and he told me all the ones like Redoran, Dres, Indoril, and finally Sadris instead of Hlaalu. So I was really confused when I found out Sadris replaced Hlaalu. Did any of you notice this? I have never even heard of this family name. It could be because I did not play Morrowind.

Sadris is totally new, yes. Hlaalu is out of the Council of the Great Houses, we know that, but we get actually no idea about House Sadris.
It bugs me, too! Beth is teasing us. Who in the name of Oblivion are they? The new merchant house?

Don't worry, its not because of you never playing Morrowind since this is a totally new name to me  I am on PC so DB is something I dont have yet, but I am on the case right now to see if I can dig any info up about it or something similar...

I know I kind of wish Morvayn elaborated more on this new House because I it was really interesting to not hear Hlaalu. I would wonder if Sadris took over Hlaalu's holdings on Vvardenfell after they replaced them.

I'm coming up short as well, but interestingly I get hits for "Sadri", which includes some minor to major NPC/enemies in both Morrowind and Skyrim. Simply search "sadri" over at UESP if interested (I doubt it has anything to do with Sadris but heck, who knows?)

EDIT: I did use more than UESP, mind you

I just did a couple of searches on UESP and found zero Sadrises in Morrowind. There were apparently a bunch of people with the family name "Sadri" and I did find the use of "Sadris" as a given name. I was hoping maybe that would give some clue as to the nature of House Sadris, but nope.

Ninja'd by someone who did the same thing. D'oh.

Despite my usual intent, I feel there's a mundane explanation for this, only because for once I feel there can only be a mundane explanation on account of the Telvanni would never let another magely house muscle in on their territory. They needed a fifth Great House with the expulsion of the Hlaalu to prevent ties in Council decisions (sort of, since realistically Redoran probably just tells the council what decisions the Council will have made by day's end, but there are appearances to be upheld) so Redoran likely took a rich yet un-influential House and rose it up to Great House status, ensuring yet another puppet in the Council.

Well if Sadri has to do with Sadris then I am wondering if it is the next merchant House or whatever it is lol. In Windhelm you have the Dunmer who owns his shop in the Gray Quarter and hes a merchant so yea.

Even though Redoran is the most powerful House in Morrowind atm, I think Telvanni is close to their strength although not very close but still powerful do to their Magic skills. I think that they don't care much for Council affairs as they have usually been isolationist right?
