Mmh. That seems a good house for... I don't know, a puny lowrank Hlaalu or a Camonna Tong wannabe?

I'm basically posting this since I find it amusing there's no article in UESPWiki on the Underground Caves shown http://www.uesp.net/maps/mwmap/mwmap.shtml?centeron=Ebonheart. Those are a good place for my damp-loving assassin lizardy. ^^ It also has a cozy upstairs with a ready bunk and reading lamp and closet room and all, a real nice place to sleep in. Also an easy walk away from Ebonheart and Vivec, if you want to come back to civilization. And unnoticed. None knows of it, my Argonian thinks, at least the Imperials. Otherwise they would've retrieved a certain piece of equipment from there already...

Underground, not Underwater Caves. Perfectionism.

I thought of Abandoned Shack when I saw the title. It's small but sometimes I set up a little alchemy lab there.

My most common and favorite places to live:

The Caldera Guard Towers at low levels.
The Council Club in Balmora, conveniently located near the Silt Stider. (emptied after a certain quest) (modded containers).
Yasamsi Cave at the mouth of the Odai River southwest of Balmora & near Hla Oad. (Plenty of storage)
Sorkvild Tower at Dagon Fel. (with modded containers)

I have lived at Nerano Manor in Balmora, but it's been a while; and I have lived in Yurts in the Grazelands when I felt particularly adventurous.

[edit] Not bad, Archmagister Nelacayne; I never thought of living there.

I never thought of this house. Now that my character is in Solstheim (probably for the rest of his life) I don′t think that house will be his for the taking. But I must say that if he ever returns from the frozen island he now knows where to look for his new home :)

Definitely a great house for RPing a slighty-hermit-ish character. I usually make do with sharing Cauis's house until I advance some, then move into the Great House stronghold of choice. It's nice those first 10-15 levels coming home to a do-nothing layabout friend with a drug habit.... kind of like having a typical college roomate, really...

There is a shack in Seyda Neen that I use when completing a certain quest. Small but cozy, a trade house across the yard, and a silt strider nearby.

Usually I'll just unlock a personal house mod when my character reaches a certain level though.

If this type of house interest you, you might like to check out a little mod i made some time back:

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7556

Im not blowing my own horn here (by promoting my own mod), but my own love of little nifty houses like the Abandoned Shack sort of inspired this mod so you might find it interesting.

And its conveniently located too ;D

I usually move into either Nerano Manor or Ienas Sarandas' house after those quests have been done. Good central locations for both of them, depending which city I want as a base. I also have a Khajit who moved into that nice penthouse apartment in Caldera.

When staying in Vivec, Brother Nads is an excellent roommate (if you can find him).

I just tried it out and it's a perfect fit in the Seyda Neen area. I'm not sure if I'll do the quest but I'm going to keep it anyway for the atmosphere. Thanks for mentioning it.

My wizard has set up residence in the side room inside the Caldera Mage's guild. Plenty of crates and sacks at the base of the stairs for storage, and a table up the stairs for displaying my rarer items. I also like to use the house adjacent to Caius' house, after I've taken care of his 'slave' issue.
