You can always DREAM that that great DB mod that has been in the works for years will appear...Oh wait...it did appear, but it was made by someone else!

You need to cut the crap.

I don't know the first thing about modding or scripting or any of that so "joining in" or making a mod of my own is out of the question.

Neither did any of us, before we started. ;)

I'm not really interested in changing the way magic is done or the economy or the worldspace (except UL, which I love) or the way this responds in relation to that, etc. I'm quite content with the way it is... I don't play the game for those aspects.

Don't take this the wrong way, but are you sure? Can't know until you've tried! It's not all about balance tweaks and new toys; there are a lot of gameplay mods which add to the ability for unique and memorable experiences to simply evolve around your character. I've finally started collecting a few of the stories people have posted, for example (slightly edited to avoid looking too much like a shameless plug):

I had a series of wonderfully skin-of-my-teeth moments when I was penniless, low on arrows and potions, dangerously exhausted and outside in the rain. Trying to find a hidden and safe enough place to sleep enough consecutive hours so that I was rested enough to survive a battle. The first time I ran into a troll, I had a very exciting battle in which I was trying very hard not to just drop in a faint from exertion.

That's one economy mod and and one fatigue mod.

No offense if you've been through this all before, of course... just want to make sure you're not missing out. :)

There's a lot of interesting quest mods listed in this thread, I think I might start to play Oblivion again after installing some of those ;)

Btw, have you seen this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgkE0b88jJg?

cheers,

You prefer mods to be rushed?

Pshaw - Doesn't SOUND like a troll, but I guess you never can tell for sure...

To the OP - You have played through http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13714, right?

Some of the old school ones are amazing, imho, and I didn't see this one mentioned here.

Yes, I have played Dungeons of Ivellon. Shame on me for leaving that one out. Excellent mod.

I agree... some of the old school mods were absolutely amazing. But thanks to the folks that have contributed to this thread, there seems to be some equally amazing mods just over the horizon, not to mention recent releases I appear to have missed.
