Buddy is awesome. I had no trouble keeping him alive.
He's at my bar in Sanctuary. I love the way he tells a joke. Just this completely flat affect with no tone whatsoever. It's sooo cheesy. I love it.
Does he no longer make the drinks for you if you complete the quest and send him to the hotel?
He does in fact work just fine at the hotel, you even get drinks free still.
But you would have to get out of you chair...... So why would you ever do that?
Why should I care about a robot? I do not, at least not this one. Prefer Codsworth or Curie for my robot buddy.
I sold him to the guy at Hotel Rexford in my first play through. I think I might just keep him this time.
I believe you can also set him as essential through the console to prevent him from dying.
Yes, cool quest. I was a bit annoyed about the slow movement with which we crossed dangerous area and sold the old steel guy. Not a big deal as I prefer to drink water, keeps the belly in form.
Wait, you can give him drinks and he'll make them Ice Cold? That's amazing!
Gotta say though, his talents really shine with the Party Boy perk. Ice Cold Gwinnett Beers give you a whopping +70 AP, +2STR, +2CHA, they're non-addictive, and you get an unlimited supply of them!
Heh. First time I did this quest, my exact response?
Aw hell no, I'm keeping you!
Why is it a challenge to keep him alive? His alive and well at Sanctuary for quite some time now. Is there something, I'm not aware of?
He walks a very dangerous path back to Goodneighbor, unless you've gone ahead and cleared it out first.
All you gotta do is fast travel. Then sleep till he gets there. Took him 3 days to get to sanctuary with little issues. Just wish the quest would leave my menu!
Yes, took him a very long time to get there. But now he's standing right at the bar, as it should be.
Was a bit disappointed that he couldn't ice my purified waters. Also where's the love for iced vodka?? goes down so much easier, its like a song of ice and fire!
Well, hopefully he doesn't play hero. I got my marketplace set up on the foundations of one of the scrappable houses at Sanctuary. The one opposite of the workshop. It's smack in the middle of town. Doesn't say much though, since attackers can materialize everywhere.
When I got him, I sent him to Finch Farm. I thought to somehow get him to go up to my penthouse on the overpass, but he just stood there on the outskirts of Finch Farm, outside the green zone. He was very close to where there is always a fight going on with the Mr Handy that is nearby.
I ended up selling him to the Hotel. Would have been cool if I could have gotten him up to my penthouse. Alas.
He is slow. Did you give him a while? I had a similar thing when I finally sent him to the hotel. Strange marker location. I think I fast traveled somewhere else, and then came back later, and he was standing outside the hotel waiting for one last dialogue with me, before we entered the hotel together.
Ha! Well, I guess you have waited long enough.
Seems to me, and it has been a while, that I actually went in to the hotel, and when I came out is when I saw buddy standing there waiting to talk to me one more time before we went in together. However it was, it seem a little glitchy to me. But it worked out. I did look at the wiki, and it is apparently bugged for some people. I remember I thought I was screwed, too, but then I went into the hotel (edit: and tried talking to Rufus) and came out and there he was.
Unless everyone's game is different in this aspect, attacks on Sanctuary only come from two directions, both of which are outside.
Wait...this is the spoiler forum. Attacks on Sanctuary only ever come from across the bridge to Vault 111 or from the Eastern edge of the culdesac outside the boundary
